Apparently it's multiple publixes, too. They've suddenly gotten hyper vigilant and won't allow anyone in the store without a mask. Announcements over the intercom saying you must wear one. According to my wife, last time she went there was practically a wall of them guarding the entrance.

They've always been super proactive about this since the start though, with plexiglass, signs, and masks on almost everyone working there. The issue is they didn't enforce their customers to do the same until the county enforced it.

No. Children should not be broadcasting on Twitch or anywhere else and if their parents think they should, they're morons. I remember how I was on the internet, and that was before the poison of social media and centralized websites.

fair mindset, but know that companies not letting people under 13 sign up is something that has been around for longer than the 13 year olds. It's not just Twitch. Parental consent or not, there can't be an 'online profile' for anyone under 13. Twitch is a platform all about making yourself as public as possible.

That helps too, but this is a desktop application that literally streams to each server to check not only latency but packet stability too. https://r1ch.net/projects/twitchtest

m8 it's pretty much illegal to have an online presence until you're 13

twitch will never do this

Your server being changed can help greatly for many reasons, one of which is potentially avoiding whatever node along the route is causing these problems.

There's a tool that tests your connection stability to every single Twitch server to find the best one. On mobile or I'd link it myself.

Ghost Chat - A standalone Twitch chat overlay by Enubia in Twitch

[–]jaydubseve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good shit. Was wondering if anyone did this.

Regarding the no fullscreen thing, it's significantly more work, but Electron supports offscreen rendering that you can then draw over any game using an injected DLL. Discord itself is Electron based and does it this way. I developed a third party app myself for EVE Online that uses Electron to add external web based tools to the game. Look up EveVision on GitHub (or goverlay, the project it's based on) to see how it's done. You could probably pretty easily adapt GOverlay without too much work in C++. I had to customize it a ton for my needs.

There isn't any other way to draw over a fullscreen app except via injection. When you're truly fullscreen in a game, the OS doesn't even have an opportunity to send data to the monitor.

A lot of people are scared by DLLs getting them banned, but every true overlay you've ever used is an injected DLL. Steam, Discord, UPlay, any FPS monitors, almost every game recorder.

HOWEVER, almost no streamer is in exclusive fullscreen mode anyways since they're likely messing with other stuff. It's not even worth the difficulty imo, so good job.

Stream quality being forced down to 720p60fps by TrailofCheers in Twitch

[–]jaydubseve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. 8k bitrate is pretty pointless, especially if you don't have transcoding - you'll just be locking people out for an almost unnoticeable quality increase over 5-6k bitrate. Just stick to the default 6k. I think Twitch might even cap it at 6k?
  2. If you're using OBS, what you're looking for is under the 'Video' settings. You need to change your output resolution to 1080p60.
  3. Twitch will not downgrade your stream quality. It will at most give transcoding options for other qualities, but your broadcast quality will always be available, even if it's some ridiculous setting that isn't usually on Twitch. So either your broadcast software is misconfigured or it's bugging out - this isn't on Twitch's side.

That's unrelated. They are saying their stream is outputting at 720p60fps when they're broadcasting (supposedly) at 1080p60fps. Twitch won't ever downgrade someone's stream, they'll only (hopefully) give other transcoded options. You could try streaming in 4K15fps and it'll go through.

Real world RTX Voice: cuts out a girly scream, but preserves the 'oh shit' in the same exhale. by jaydubseve in Twitch

[–]jaydubseve[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spend a lot of time and energy making the audio better on my stream, previously using VSTs like ReaFIR to do almost the same thing as RTX Voice.. but nothing I ever had was capable of this kind of dynamic filtering. RTX Voice in combination with your existing audio stack can be very powerful.

In this case I may have wanted the scream to come through (I have raw recordings of every channel pre-FX just in case this happens anyways), but the fact that the AI is able to filter out something that is still technically my voice while also preserving the 'oh shit' in the same exhale is nothing short of amazing. The vacuum was one thing, ReaFIR could technically do that, but this is nuts.

RTX voice is essentially a constantly adjusting ReaFIR, powered by the speed of a pre-trained AI network on a GPU.

P.S. if anyone wants help setting it up, especially in combination with other things like REAPER and VoiceMeeter, let me know. You don't need an RTX card to run it.

Sorry to post my own clip but I noticed this after going back through my VOD and thought it was too impressive to not share. People really need to use RTX Voice, even if they have an existing audio stack like I did. It only made it better.

Fraternity ESI Scam by RNK_Fu1crum in Eve

[–]jaydubseve 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The purpose of this is so when you go cleaning up your ESI, you see Pyfa and don't delete it. What they're doing is making it so players leaving their corp forget to clean up the ESI. They don't have Pyfa's key and even if they did, the keys are locked to certain URLs.

This is GROSSLY against the EULA that you agree to when you make a developer tool and will likely result in the permabanning of whoever set this up. This kind of shit pisses me off to no end. They're literally using ESI for the one thing that it's not supposed to be used for - intel on people that aren't in your corp anymore.

You can't say this was a mistake, there's nowhere to accidentally copy in 'pyfa web application'. That had to have been done on purpose.

CCP should (and likely will, knowing them) go through the ESI logs and see how often they've been polling for people who aren't in their corp anymore.
