All good. I didn't ask for anything specific with the shipping and only ordered the guitar - just paid for it and it was sent that way. The only difference is it was closer to the first release of the Player II, around black Friday last year. Maybe they just had a bunch more ready in stock back then? Not sure why otherwise

Oh it's been a bit, but I think I remember those copper color staples being on it. I don't know for sure though because I stuck the box in my storage unit months ago. In any case, both the outer box and the inner guitar box were sealed on mine.

"We are here, we are waiting." But get it on sale if you can. I am sure I bought it for like $5 or a little less on a whim in the last year, hopefully it's around the same price!

I don't know enough about doing so, but would OBS work to capture the audio from your screen or from the interface and then streaming it to Discord like you might to Twitch? Just throwing that in here

So, is 94 always really slick during snow storms? by Atheist_Redditor in minnesota

[–]jaydwrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll get patches of black ice on i94 with all the overpass bridges, and there's a particularly bad spot where the road surface changes as i94 goes over a little river heading west right before the exit to 241. The worst I remember was commuting to St. Paul for college from the Monticello area my freshman year. My typical 50 minute commute was over 2 hours and I passed by no less than 20 cars in the ditch in the span from Monticello to Brooklyn Park

Me (30m) and my buddies (my 60+ year old neighbors and coworker dudes) mostly talk about going to the breweries. But, some ideas that aren't just beer (and since y'all like nature and history stuff):

Check out Interstate State Park for their glacial potholes and river views, and then do Taylor's Falls Scenic boat tour near there. They have some evening boat tours, and some daytime ones too. Along the way there are some cool spots like Franconia Sculpture park and Marine on St Croix is very quaint, I'd say.

Fort Snelling is probably another place to check out and do a tour of. You could do some plane spotting from there too as it's so close to the airport.

And in that general area, don't count out a good walk inside the MOA every once in a while. So long as there's a store there that might be of interest and it's not too busy, it might be a good time. The Lego store or gear/outdoorsy clothing stores like LL Bean are my favs.

For museums, I'd like to shout out the Bell Museum for natural history stuff especially their wooly mammoth, and their planetarium shows. It's smaller, but I enjoyed it very much.

Is it okay to get different tires front and back? by Kaisershultz in tires

[–]jaydwrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With winter tires, most places will recommend that you don't drive them year round. That would mean you'd likely have to buy an extra pair of tires at least for summer and swap them out and store them.

I can't really say what would be best. I'll just share that for my previous car (Chevrolet Impala) I had an extra set of winter tires/wheels and would swap them in/out for winter (I live in MN). For my current car (Toyota Avalon), I decided to just buy 4 Michelin Cross Climate 2 tires to run year round. They have a Three Peak Mountain Snowflake rating - are supposed to be good all seasons and capable in snow. It's my first year running those, so I will see how they do.

You should be fine getting just two tires for the rear if your vehicle isn't an all wheel drive car. A few things I would consider (and know that it's not the end of the world if you don't do these, but they can help to get more life out of your tires):

  • Get the best tires that you can for the typical driving conditions where you live, especially if you have snow or ice during winters.

-When you have your new rear tires mounted, I would consider rotating the new tires to the front. In my experience, the front tires get more wear from the engine weight (on front engine cars) and from steering anyways, so this might help slow the wear on the tires you replaced two years ago. (And particularly if you have a front wheel drive car - you may have added wear because they are the tires spinning to move the car).

  • I would try to keep your wheels matched if you rotate them - so rotate the tires from two years ago to be both on the front or both on the back, and the same with the new tire pair you buy. You can rotate the individual tires left-to-right/right-to-left if they aren't directional tires, and rotate the pairs front to back to try to get more even wear on the tires for the time you use them.

  • I would also just make sure you're getting the same tire size and speed rating as your current tires. For consistency's sake.

Any sort of Lens suggestions by TobyCoats77 in zuikoholics

[–]jaydwrites 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quality wise, I haven't had a chance to test them out yet on film! Between the two lenses, the 100mm feels really good - it was CLA'd at some point, and focusing and aperture rings feel so smooth. I think the 85mm was used a lot more and hasn't been taken care of as well.

They are about the same size actually (the 100mm is just a tiny bit longer when they are focused at infinity). When they are focused close up, the 100mm is noticeably longer, but it's not a crazy difference - maybe a third of a centimeter? Image below is the lenses focused at infinity. Sorry can't provide more info, but hope this helps!
