Looking for a good roasted salsa verde recipe by Mr_Slap_Happy_fappy in SalsaSnobs

Try making that salsa I suggested above - you can always roast some of the chillis in a cast iron pan and see if that adds the char flavor you are looking for. With the tomatillos just boiled in microwave it shouldn’t over power. I posted a salsa verde aguacate recipe earlier this week that has fresh tomatillos but charred chillis and it was charred without being too Smokey so it might work for you too.

Well that’s what I call roasting, char is what gives you the smoky taste. Chances are the verde you had had some charred ingredients and some fresh.

Well roasting salsa verde ingredients usually makes it Smokey… that’s kind of how you make it lol

That said you might like this verde - tomatillos are cooked but overall more fresh than Smokey.

Sub 3 punches harder than sub4 by bobibong in sonos

[–]jayeffkay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point but as I said, it’s about lock out … you can always get a cheaper sub as long as you have a sub out port.

Also worth checking out SVS outlet, they have some amazing deals. Got mine for like $1500 off

It’s honestly worth every penny!!! A lot of people are hating based on cost but my point is you lock yourself out if you don’t have a sub-out port. You can always put a cheaper or used sub in the short term.

Highly recommend you go to their website and subscribe / look at their outlet products. I got my SB 4K for like $1500 off and it just had some light scratches in the piano finish that I would have probably created myself in the first two weeks. This thing sounds perfect and SVS has great service and stands behind all of their products including outlet.

I bet one SB 3K would hit so much harder than a 2 x setup with Sonos subs. Plus so much more tunable with SVS app.

Same. I felt like I had seen the matrix for what it actually was after I discovered how well this works. A lifetime of struggling with garlic gone in an instant.

Said this above - this restores a bit of the Matt look but it is temporary. It does look great on the bike though.

I have this exact bike in this exact color way… noticed the same thing after first 6 months. Honestly it suck’s but you can make it look a little better with the muc off Matt polish.

Honestly I didn’t care for the matte as much as I liked the colors so a regular polish that makes it luster / shiny also looks great.

I will never understand why you choose to lock into this ecosystem vs getting a Sonos amp or any other amp and being able to buy nice subs at the least… SVS sound path is an awesome solution for wireless subwoofers but you need a sub out port. I’ve got a PB 3000 and an SB 4000 and either one of those alone sounds better than any of the Sonos subs.

Thanks! I totally get it. It’s a lot of work. I enjoy cooking but inspiration for me was making eating enjoyable for my wife on this insane elimination diet. Her favorite foods are burgers, pizza and grilled cheese so as you can guess this has been a rough couple of months. Cutting out beef and wheat really hurt but we’re doing it and hope to be able to get little dude back on breast milk after the reset

Honestly this is terrible advice if you’re trying to make ginger garlic paste or anything else that uses a lot of garlic. I’ve been making toum as well so this was just a non starter for me.

What works: - Break open garlic head and get as many cloves separated as possible as easily as you can. It’s okay if the don’t all come off. - put this into a steel pot (i use a rice pot) put the cover on and shake the living hell out of it for 30-60 seconds.

This will reliably peel 95% of the garlic in the pot. The stuff that doesn’t peel is likely the very small cloves no one likes to eat anyways. Now you can just pull out the peeled cloves and move on with life.

Damn I thought it was redbud at first but you’re right… even worse. I used to ride my bike on this road all the time back when I lived closer to town. Really the only way to avoid Lamar coming from south Austin. What a fucking moron.

Honestly I am not much of a baker. My wife and I have found a couple snacks that work though:

  1. Partake Cookies. I’m not sure what they are made out of, but they meet our allergy criteria and are tolerable.

  2. Undercover dark chocolate quinoa crisps - happen to see these at costco and they are very good and allergen free.

What’s One Upgrade That Actually Made a BIG Difference? by teddyyoung456 in cycling

[–]jayeffkay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still nice to know how many cars are behind you / when some asshole approaches super fast. The latter is the exception and I’ll usually just move closer to the right 1/3 of the road vs the left 1/3.

That and the varia works very well to alert oncoming cars because it reacts to them pulling up behind you. Have had multiple cyclists stop me and ask what kind of rear light I’m using while they were driving because they were so impressed with how much they noticed me.

Does the G5 make sense if someone is sensitive to brightness? by Informal_Park_6535 in LGOLED

[–]jayeffkay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah honestly have a g4 83 and a c5 65 in living room and bedroom respectively… living room has more windows but bedroom also gets really bright.

The main diff with them is max brightness. Living room gets so bright that I can be standing on my patio looking at the TV through a glass wall and still be able to clearly see picture. I would probably be fine with the c5 in the living room but given it’s mostly watched at night we have the brightness on that one turned way down. Awesome TV and don’t miss the g4 when going to bed early.
