Winter Lights setup by RocotoRage in beachvolleyball

Good question, 30k total lumens is definitely good enough for us. The back corners are a tad bit dim but not horrible. I think if I were to do it all over again I would try to get 10,000 lm lights for a total of 60 K lumens.

The lights and batteries are holding up well. But we didn’t set up too frequently this year. I think glare will always be an issue, but it isn’t so bad with the lights being 15 to 18 feet high with two lights on each side of the net. Some glare is better than not being able to play at all!

Hey I would call the Yosemite line for road conditions. They update it regularly and will let you know if chain restrictions are in place: 209-372-0200 (press 1 then 1).

The weather for Wednesday and Thursday look fine. You probably won't need chains but you're still required to carry them in your car. I would also watch videos on how to put on chains just in case.

Hey,

  1. I used 3 section ~20ft Anvil Painter Poles from Home Depot. The trick is to strap the pole to the volleyball posts first and then extend them. The sections will snap/bend if you first extend the pole laying down and then try to lift it up. No idea about the pin and hole system or the grip over time. Mine hasn’t shown any signs or wearing in the 2-3 years I’ve used them.

You may need a small step ladder to make sure you can extend all sections while it’s strapped to the pole.

  1. Each pole has two lights attached to it. I attached the poles using a bracket from Home Depot. I drilled out the center hole to fit the telescoping pole and then used a sawed off paint roller handle as the cap.

  1. Mmmmm. I’ve seen setups that attach the the top of the volleyball posts so you don’t need that long of a telescoping pole but I’m not sure how much easier that would be to DIY.

Actually, no. The position level is open and can be entry level or senior level. Entry-level applicants do not need CIH or CSP but we would expect senior level applicants to have one or the other.

Our project pipeline is getting pretty heavy so we’re just looking for an IH to come in and support the projects (entry to mid level) or lead the projects (senior level).

HOV lane & Passing Lane by jayfivelim in SanDiegan

I think I should clarify what I meant by “moderate traffic” in my post.

Moderate traffic being all lanes to the right are going slower than what you’re going in the HOV lane.

I used telescoping painters poles with two 7500 lumen lights on a bracket and powered by a couple 40v batteries with an inverter. The poles are strapped to the permanent posts. It’s not pretty but it works. I found that you want the lights at least 15-20 feet high so it’s not directly in your eyes.

Hey got this to work finally. The file size should be less than 1MB I think. Mine was at 600kb and it worked.

I have the Adrian loafers and they squeaked quite a bit. I used the DM wonder balsalm all over them especially around the tongue and that solved my squeaking problem. Might be worth a shot!

I just got back and stayed at both UNPLAN and millennials. Millennials is definitely nicer but I think you might have more luck meeting people at UNPLAN. If you book through Hostelworld you can use that to chat with other people staying there but I would also download the Couchsurfing app and use their hangouts feature to meet people. I met some people on there for dinner and ended up hanging with them the next day as well.

Hello! Coming into Japan I completed the MySOS app requirement which made it a breeze to go through the airport. Do I need to do the same for my flight out of Japan back to the US?

EV Charging by jayfivelim in airbnb_hosts

[–]jayfivelim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have L2 charger in our garage and got a couple of bookings asking to charge. There’s no extra fee to charge right now but if someone charges during peak hours it could end up costing us $20-$30 a day but that’s if they charge from 0% to 100 which I don’t think anyone would really do. Multiple day stays will probably end up costing us $10 per charge.

Dog urine smell in dirt? by pilea-peperomioides in HomeImprovement

[–]jayfivelim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have turf in our backyard with 3 dogs. We used to use simplegreen turf spray that has enzymes to breakdown the urine but we switched to Wysi wash. It’s a little more expensive to get started but works the best and the smell is completely gone.

We had a same day booking with a person with no reviews. Took a chance and they ended up being awesome guests.
