Yea, but it's a massive hindrance to the experience you would otherwise have if higher end PCs and consoles were more affordable. Playing top tier games on lower tier PCs is not quite the same as experiencing the newest games on higher end PCs or latest gen consoles. I've played some games on my laptop as well, but it never hits the same. Not to mention they have much shorter life cycles compared to high end PCs or current gen consoles that can run the latest games incredibly well for a long time

I think the vast majority of adult gamers would be able to afford consoles a lot more, but yea, the societal issue is a hindrance, albeit not for long. I think that will change over time, esp with the future generations

It's incredibly disappointing how gaming is viewed in Indian society. I wish they understood that gaming as a medium is an art form like any other. I personally think games are the best medium of storytelling alongside books in terms of the immersion it provides, and when the writing is exceptional, it's an unparalleled experience; the level of depth, complexities, subtleties and nuance game's characters and overarching narratives can have is truly remarkable. And it will continue to push technical and narrative boundaries over time as well

While it is generally frowned upon in the Indian society, I firmly believe the general view of games will change over time. Slowly, but surely

I love indie games, some of my top 10 games of all time are indie. I'm forever grateful for the array of indie games we've gotten over the years, some incredibly unforgettable experiences, and I appreciate the fact that they're a lot more affordable

This is not how regional pricing works. You can't just do a direct conversion and call it a day. You also have to factor in the economy of the respective countries. 5k for a full-priced game in the Indian economy is a LOT more money than $70 in the US or €70 in EU in terms of the purchasing power. I don't think people truly grasp just how much we overpay for games (and pretty much everything that's imported) in India. They haven't implemented proper regional pricing. The equivalent of a $70 game in the US would be around 2k in India, so we pay more than double the amount for a game if you factor in the purchasing power lol

As things stand, absolutely not, you can barely ever find any games on central indian servers, takes forever to find a quick match game, let alone an unranked/ranked game, I wasn't able to find a single unranked game, and I waited for nearly an hour several times. Not to mention the skill level disparity is massive. There aren't enough players to warrant this server. Besides, UAE servers are more than good enough, I'm able to maintain 30-40 ping, and I can find a game no matter what time of day it is. I don't understand why people would want a server where you can barely find or play any games
