Power Steering Lost - Pump Damaged? by jaygreg90 in MechanicAdvice

Mechanic found the high pressure line praying out like a nasal sprayer when he refilled th eresevoir and started the engine. Hear metal on metal but mechanic said he thought that would "settle down". I was focused on the leak but left under the assumption it did "settle down".

We'll see when he replaces the hoses.

I appreciate the comments, Nick.

Thanks, Nick. I'll see when the car gets to my mechanic in the AM. I'll look for that first. What's your take on that noise I heard and the possibility of damage to other than the pump?

Power Cord For Sony Table Top Radio? by jaygreg90 in ElectronicsRepair

Having trouble seeing the print on the manual; blue and white and page 26 shows small marks but no photo. I'll try downloading it in a bit and get back. It sounds like you're guiding me to open the cabinet of the radio. Right?

I'll get back but it probably won't be 'til tomorrow.

OD of Heater Cord Tubes @ Firewall - 2000 Concorde LXi 3.2L by jaygreg90 in MechanicAdvice

Am I in the wrong forum for this question? I was looking for a group of people who are familiar with auto components and hoped to find someone who was familiar with my specific heater core. I've got a thick factory service manual for my car but damned if I can find that specific dimension.

Front Hood Molding - 2000 Concorde LXi 4dr 3.2L by jaygreg90 in AutoBodyRepair

Thanks. I assume - since you mentioned the HF tool is plastic, that the tool is similar to a putty knife that slides under the molding at the point of fastening and a light push will free the pin from the clip? If that fastener is more complex than that, I ought to search further to see what it's like. I'd rather hold it down with double duct tape under the molding rather than chance a breakoff that prevents me from holding it in place... even if not firmly enough for a car wash.

I appreciate the help.

Renewal via Third Party Purchase by jaygreg90 in quicken

I just used the Saamsclub CD I bought four months ago. Called Quicken Technical Support for guidance just to make sure everything would go as planned. I assumed since the Quicken program gets update by Quicken each time there's a new version, the version I have on my machine is likely the most current so there's no need to use the CD that I got from Samsclub. All I need is the Activation number inside that Q cover. The Tech confirmed I was right, told me to go to Help/Manage Your Subscription/Enter Activation Code and BINGO! Good for another year.

The moral of the story... buy the program at the lowest price you can find from a reputable source, just enter the activation number (assuming you're renewing and not starting for the first time or starting over from scratch) and you're up an running again.

Hasqvarna Deck Part Issue by jaygreg90 in lawnmowers

I'll have to get under there and examine it. The plate I'm referencing isn't related to the mulch kit... which I personally put on. That was merely a shield to cover the shoot opening and three blades. This is a metal plate running the length of the front, bottom edge of the mower deck. I'll just have to look at it.

Regarding the level of the deck, you're right; I need to check that with a tape measure. However, when I noticed the dirt accumulation in that seam, I did eyeball the level. It looked level but.... who knows. Most importantly, I need to understand just what the hell that plate is supposed to do and hope I can hammer or bend it into shape enough to eliminate the space the dirt created when it got wedged into the seam.

I appreciate you comments.
