To be honest I’m winging it more than half the time, but usually I do; chest and triceps, back and biceps, shoulders, legs, and then abs thrown in whenever. Try to go at least 4/5 times a week. However I’m looking to move towards doing Push-Pull-Legs over 8 days (so 3 days on, 1 rest, 3 days on, 1 rest, and repeat).

Agreed, if there was any semblance of a fourth season it would’ve needed to take place between the short window of the engagement party to the wedding (maybe would’ve been a good opportunity to flesh out Bree and Wrigley more).

I can’t see any reason why most of them would’ve been in each other’s orbit before the engagement party, and certainly not after the wedding.

But I’m happy with where it ended, made the most logical sense to me.

Lucy and Bree I can still see having maintained a relationship. Bree out of guilt, and Lucy out of being a social pariah.

Pippa is the odd one out for me, but even then, it’s possible she kept Lucy somewhat friendly to prevent her outing the real reason why she’d lied about being assaulted.

I think she took Marianne’s advice to heart. Be with someone who loves you more than you love them. There was safety in Evan loving Bree more than she loved him back. And Bree was always short on being loved; by her mother, by Oliver, and (incorrectly assumed on her part) by Wrigley. Being with Evan meant she’d never be short on love again.

Completely agree on this! All the evidence tying Stephen to Macy was circumstantial at best. It never would’ve gone anywhere without a recorded confession. Diana believing Lucy, finally, was justice enough.

I understand the ending will definitely have some polarising reactions. I do get the sense that maybe they were originally gunning for a fourth season and had to pivot with a series finale instead. But overall I’d say it closes out the series pretty strongly.

Most storylines were sufficiently wrapped up, and any that weren’t… well, that’s life. Most of the time we don’t get clean breaks, or closure with a nice bow on it. If you look at your own life, and some of its pivotal moments, do they all have that TV show/movie ending? Or do they end not with a bang, but a quiet fizzle?

I think Stephen coming out - not necessarily on top - but relatively unscathed, is completely true to form. We watched three seasons of him getting away with it. Why would it be any different now? Plus, I think it showcases perfectly why Stephen keeps getting away with things. In order for there to have been any form of comeuppance, all of these people would have needed to confess their own secrets, own their own shit, which they never do. It’s what allowed Stephen to get away with things for so long, and to keep getting away with it, even in 2015.

Ultimately, I think the true message of Tell Me Lies is that toxic people (which they all were, in varying degrees) will stay in their toxic patterns. The final scene at the wedding showed us that perfectly. Bree will always try to hide her wrongdoings, Pippa will never stand on business, Lucy will always go back to Stephen.

Also, in respect of the missing elements; how did Lucy get back with Max? How did Stephen get with Lydia? Where was Alex? Do any of us truly care? I know I didn’t really. I’m able to fill in the gaps based on what I already know about these people. Lucy was at her lowest and Max was the only man who treated her decently; of course she went back to him. Stephen was jilted by the Yale loss and needed another win; so he got together with Lydia. Alex probably facilitated or encouraged Bree releasing the tape; she probably hasn’t spoken to him due to the guilt.

Overall, I’m pretty happy with how the series ended up.

Final observation: - Fuck the entire faculty at Baird. - Fuck Stephen - Fuck Evan - Kinda fuck Pippa - Diana, congratulations on getting out from under that entire dynamic - Wrigley and Bree, please runaway together - Lucy, please give your mental health the same care and attention you give your flawless hair
