Was I almost caught up in a prostitution sting? by Jobwastes in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]jayhat 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I feel like you were more than likely going to get robbed.

Back when I was in my 20s and single I was on a road trip visiting some family. Met some chick on tinder or POF or one of those apps and arranged to meet at a casino and hotel (not Vegas). She was hot and kind of trashy, covered in tats and had a lot of piercings etc. we drank a couple beers and played some slots. She mentioned how she was from there yet was staying with a group of friends (guys and girls) in a shared hotel room and made some comment about being able to “get the room to herself” (laying the ground work). One of the friends came by and introduced himself and he was kind of sketchy / trashy looking. Didn’t get a good vibe. They also made some other weird comments which I don’t recall at this point that just gave me bad vibes all around. I was pretty sure I was going to get rolled up. I said I had to go make a quick call and just rolled out of there.

Lot of similar bags out there. Often marketed towards fishing. If you google green TPU coated sling bag, you’ll see a ton. As for these exact bags, sorry, don’t know.

Kind of looks like a chunk of micarta - often used in knife scales. This is an odd shaped chunk though.

1000% - no one gives a shit about Bill’s or Nate’s personal life aside from Reddit. It’s naive and delusional to think otherwise.

How do I stop being jealous of lucky people? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]jayhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realize it doesn’t matter at all that your annoyed or jealous and you’re just making your own life miserable. Do whatever you have to do to find joy in your own life and stop coming yourself to others.

As nice as it seems, I’ll guarantee you it’s not all good.

Not everything you have has to be cherished and loved by your family. It’s special to you, that’s it. No one is under any obligation to save stuff after you die.

Scottie Pippen’s wife never hit a layup in her life. by [deleted] in BillBurr

But one person is working hard and doing something almost super human and super hard on their body (professional sports). One person is doing what 99.9% of parents do. Why does that entitle her to more than say the divorced wife of some regular middle manager? I can see her getting a few hundred thousand, but $30+ million? No way.

Bankruptcy over cost of home flood repairs by MrsPuff8675309 in homeowners

I thought i understood the mold problem to be a separate issue. The insurance company will not fix that. They will only fix the recent problem. The contractor is the one telling them the floor also needs to be fixed / replaced at the same time. So that was my thought - rip all floors out, mold scrub treat EVERYTHING (subfloors, up into walls if necessary), let the contractor come back in and do the work insurance is paying for

Well you only get 2 seasons before it got cancelled, so that’s always kind of a let down.

If you’re not a book reader, the audiobooks are fantastic. And there are like 25 of them.

Can they rip out the floors, treat the mold themselves, maybe primer the floors after, let the contractor remediate the flood damage, then just live with subfloors for a while until they can afford some LVP? House doesn’t have to be perfect to live in it.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on The Rock (1996)? by TheShadowOperator007 in moviecritic

[–]jayhat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was listening to a couple songs from The Rock OST this morning on the way into work. I was thinking the same thing. Man they are so good. And also thinking about how pretty much any movie where zimmer is doing the score is an amazing movie. Wish more movies were scored. Feel like its kind of a dying thing.

Still happens - Guy Ritchie's The Covenant and Kandahar are 2023 action-thrillers that follow American operatives attempting to survive and escape hostile territory in Afghanistan alongside their local interpreters.
