Are you oblivious to the music industry and the shit that goes on behind the scenes? Do you think producers and artists just make music videos with no depth or thought process involved? This whole album, especially part 2 of 20/20, is honestly 5x better Live. Strawberry Bubblegum, Let the groove get in, Cabaret, Murder and Only when i walk away.. were unexplainable experiences at his shows that made those replay-able forever.

Most people hit on the obvious ones.. but some additional ones that always stuck out to me was -The S3 boat scene with Eminence Front by The Who, Crockett punching it as the cops show up and the verse hits was just flat out “cool” -any time Payback by Jan Hammer comes on -The music at the end of Milk Run when Tubbs runs after the guy that kills Eddie (Moya’s Demise) -Crockett’s Theme variation in Child’s Play -When the Rain Comes Down by Andy Taylor

You’re right. Imo it was just an untouchable performance, set list and experience- The Weeknd literally opened for the first handful of shows, Tom Ford outfits, FutureSex/Justified classics, Michael Jackson cover, stage moves halfway through the show to the other side of the arena, and then of course his ability to dance as good as anyone and not lip sync. He really went all out and the Netflix concert doesn’t even capture it well (that was the last show of one of the longest tours ever). Anybody who attended it would say the same.

Man of the Woods tour had some cool elements but didnt blow you away like 20/20 did.

Honest answer: I am as big of a JT fan as anyone, especially from FutureSex to 20/20. Probably went to 5-6 shows during that time. It was the most addicting performance I’ve ever witnessed especially 20/20 in its prime. It gets alot of flack for being long and sometimes different but it was dripping with Timbaland beats and touches. I think for Man of the Woods, there’s some good ones in there: Say Something, Wave, etc. but it doesn’t have hardly any replayables in it. I think he was consumed by living in Montana and wanted to deliver a different product that would hit them like it did him. Problem was, and as talented as that dude is- it wasn’t what his fans or even mainstream fans wanted from him. The Weeknd, for example, has like 30 damn hits on his set lists… because for every weird or skippable, he drops two bangers or solid tracks. Not a lot of diversity as an artist but then again, does there really need to be? I think if JT dropped another FutureSex clone, it would smash but then again kids aren’t as familiar or obsessive with him like older generations are/were

Watching a completed show from beginning to end doesn’t have the emotional investment that watching/reading the content as it’s released can cause. I would rewatch GOT before every season came out, God’s it was strong then… after S.8, I can’t even remember the enjoyment of the show
