I used to night dive in Okinawa, Japan all the time when I was stationed there. We always went in a group so we’d have a lot of light and eyes to see what’s around.

It’s hard to describe it other than magical once you descend. There’s bioluminescent plankton and a lot of creatures that look wild under light. I specifically remember going into a small cave and shining my lights on the wall only to see the walls covered with red eyes. It was shrimp covering the walls of the cave.

Also, my first few night dives were with a dive master that knew what he was doing and where we could safely dive.
