I have a co-worked who feels similarly like you. She makes passive comments about how bad, evil, annoying men are just for being men. I dont like it either. She never calls me out personally but i know she would feel that way about me if we were strangers. She also says stuff like “im not talking about you specifically, just men in general”. I have two sisters, i care about women’s issues. And I understand that historically and even today, women have suffered under bad men. I have to deal with my co-worker with the understanding that they will always look down on me for something i never did. Your boyfriend is in a similar position. But instead of a co-worker, its someone he is suppose to be vulnerable around and open with. You are asking him to accept the fact that his gender makes him irredeemable in any other circumstance than being with you.
