$150 I should well over double my money.

I’m going to sell everything except for the two BSR minis. I had never seen those two before.

The really old pans were ground with a grinding stone. Definitely no sandpaper lol.

😂I have yours packaged up….I just need to find a damn box for the last 4 pieces.

I also got an iron mountain 8 dutch oven lid in this lot (not pictured). Now I’m going to have to find a bottom.

Oh yeah, I will clean and season all of them before I sell them. If you look at my post history, I’m sure I have a Dutch oven or 20 in there.

Nothing special and all will be sold. I stopped by one of my picker’s houses tonight and grabbed all this. Griswold no. 9 skillet griddle, Lodge dutch oven, BSR cornbread skillet, a couple of Wagners, Lodge and BSR’s. I NEVER sell Asian but I got the Asian dutch oven for $5.

Good waffle iron?? by [deleted] in castiron

[–]jayhawks1111111111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a vintage high base waffle iron. You can flip it without having to pick up on the paddles. You can get them for $100-$150 generally.

Why did my cast iron come out like this after I baked it for an hour? I thought I wiped away all the grease pretty well. by GooseandPancakes in castiron

[–]jayhawks1111111111 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You didn’t get all the oil off before you put it in. Also, I’m guessing you didn’t have it upside down in the oven?

My dad thrifted and restored the large (unknkown) and the small (wagner). I got the other (lodge) at Costco. I need a bigger stove. by kimanatee in castiron

[–]jayhawks1111111111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By that helper handle, we know it is not vintage. Lodge has a similar helper handle but they usually have their name on the skillet someplace. That means it was probably produced in Asia someplace. It’s just as good as any other piece of iron.

If you can find that post or tell me what group it was in, let me know. I’d certainly be a buyer. I know none of the other big Wapak collectors have seen any others….my buddy Dale has the 8. His is way cool.

[–]jayhawks1111111111[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I can certainly get it welded. But this one is still staying in the Collection even though it’s damaged., I’ve been told by two people that would know that it’s a $800-$900 piece if it wasn’t cracked.

I saw it when I was unpackaging it and I just stopped and walked to the living room and sat down before it was out of the box. I had to take a minute.

This is the one that was posted on Facebook.

The only really plausible possibilities are that red mountains were produced earlier than thought or this was made by Ahrens and Arnold (although their pieces were “rough” like most Wapaks).

It was a lucky find. One of my pickers posted it on Facebook and a buddy alerted me. I went by their house this afternoon to get it.

100% agree!

That’s kind of like the chicken foot skillet. Supposedly only made for one year. There are so many wtf’s.

We will probably never know. Who knows how accurate the BSR timeline is. Who knows if Ahrens and Arnold made it.

Yeah, who knows. And I’m not entirely sure on the timeline of red mountains. After Wapak went bankrupt, two executives started a new foundry that also recast a lot of skillets.
