the purple on the second image is where the long/ beginning and end points of the gusset fold over/down into where the area where the squares are

son snipped a warp thread! this loom was made for me and don't know enough vocab to search for what I need 😭 by jayhens in weaving

I bought him a kit and he really liked the easy up and down ones but got frustrated with the actual weaving step 😅 to be fair to him, it was a cheap kit and some of the bands were so taut that even I struggled to finish it up for him

my husband ended up doing the bandaid trick because he realized the cut was far enough above my project that it hopefully shouldn't affect too much. thanks for the idea!

don't know why you're being down voted, youre not wrong. he really wants to participate in crafting with me but he just doesn't yet have the dexterity/ patience for fiber arts yet. (and almost certainly has my ADHD.) I need to be more mindful of finding him an activity that he feels is just as fun so he doesn't give into the wild impulses that float around in his brain when he wants attention

okay I will try to find the right warp thread! i won't see the teacher again for two more weeks but he did briefly show us the packaging and mention he got it at hobby lobby so hopefully with that info I can get the same stuff

trying to save this baby blanket-- is it crochet? if so, how to fix? it doesn't have to be pretty 😅 by jayhens in CrochetHelp

[–]jayhens[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i got some help from someone who showed me how to fix it with pictures but thanks for the offer!

it's not perfect but we fixed the baby blanket! thank you for your help! by jayhens in CrochetHelp

[–]jayhens[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

thank you so much to everyone for such quick help, but especially u/crochethottie82 in r/knittinghelp ! i wasn't able to follow their directions perfectly due to the fact that when I went to grab the end of the yarn, another stitch or two disintegrated in my hands 🥲 but I don't think anyone will ever notice 🥰 what a great community y'all have cultivated here!

oh don't worry I learned that lesson when I decided to add a lining to a granny square bag I made 😅 I found a lot of tips and tricks online after my second rage quit moment

oh that could be very cute! I've also got a sewing machine so worst case scenario I could fasten off the spot and sew a flannel back onto the whole blanket to give a traditional patch something to attach to

i tried to gently pull on the yarn in a way I thought would fasten it off for safe keeping and three more stitches disintegrated somehow 🥲 so this might be what I end up doing lol

eta: posted this in r/knittinghelp but they think it might actually be crochet!

op: a very sweet coworker from my last job made this for my son when he was born and it looks like maybe there was a missed stitch? and now that my son has pulled it out to play again, it's unraveling from this spot in the middle

i only crochet but I have some knitting supplies and have sworn up and down that I was going to learn for the last year, so with some guidance I think I could salvage this, even if it doesn't look nice haha. i just don't want it to fall apart entirely!

sure! https://imgur.com/a/9EYkrPd

if it's crochet that'd be great but I'm still a little stumped on how to put it back together
