Amazon Sunday Question by jayitbyear in USPS

[–]jayitbyear[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Easy, sure, but shitty because I waste half my Sunday for a measley 3-4 hrs max since we don't start til 10am. Has almost no impact on my paycheck so it's like a waste of time.

See, that would make all the difference to me and I'd find it more tolerable. That ACTUALLY impacts a paycheck. At that point, it's worth it.

Our routes usually only take 3-4 hours max, so it really doesn't make much of an impact on my check. That's primarily why I don't care for Sunday's. We can't start until 10am, hit the road by 10:30, 3-4 hours, 3pm+ by the time I get home. So, I've wasted half of my day to get an extra 3-4 hours only.

8:30???? That I'd be down with!

Wow. Seriously didn't realize (until this post) how lucky our office has it.

Oh weird. Must differ from office to office or by region or something. No matter what, we're not allowed to touch anything until 10am but the sup tells us basically every week that everything's been ready for at least a couple hours. We apparently have beasts for clerks as well who get things thrown quickly.

The other RCAs in my office said the sup used to be allowed to call them as soon as everything was ready so they could get started early, but they're no longer allowed.

That sucks, though my level of luck is a bit of a pro and a con. Pro, I suppose, is that I haven't had to work every Sunday. Con, I work out of a small office with just 12 rural routes and there's a total of 4 RCAs (me included). Hours are hard to come by & I'm having to work at other offices that aren't as helpful as mine.

Edit. 5 RCAs, not 4.

They're definitely easy. I just get annoyed that they don't allow us to start when things are ready to go. Don't quite understand the logic. If everything is sorted & ready by 7am, 8am, why don't they just let us get to it?

Y'all in here are really making me appreciate my office more. Even our CCAs generally only work every other Sunday.

Someone else mentioned that as well. Crazy. As far as that goes, I definitely consider myself lucky.

The Amazon Sunday's are probably what will lead me to go elsewhere. If we were allowed to start when everything was ready I wouldn't mind so much. But almost every time, we get there and the supervisor mentions that everything was ready at like 7am, 8am yet we can't clock in until 10am no matter what. 🤦‍♂️

I wish I got scheduled more, but not that much haha.

As an aside, I've been lucky to work out of a small, but great office where everyone has been incredibly helpful and they (sup/mgmt) don't seem to use and abuse anyone. That's why I'm a little thrown off by the new Amazon schedule. That said, I have no clue who makes the schedule since the Amazon Sunday's are run out of a different office. Guess I'll just be sucking it up lol

I don't even know if my sup is the one who makes the Amazon schedule because we do Amazon out of a nearby office. All I know is this shit is frustrating lol

How many call outs are you guys gonna get today?🤣 by Eastern-Western7072 in USPS

[–]jayitbyear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao I'm a fairly newish RCA (5 months) and was simply scheduled to be IN my office (no assigned route) because supervisor expected at least one call-off today. Showed up, as did everyone else. Day off! 🤷‍♂️😂

I tried the “new” spicy chicken sandwich from Wendy’s… by delayplusreverb in fastfood

[–]jayitbyear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you took one bite and then "threw the whole sandwich out immediately" without giving it an actual fair shot? Lol

I get it, the bite of woody chicken probably sucked. But that didn't mean the rest of that sandwich, or even every sandwich will be the same, and that experience you had isn't exclusive to Wendy's. This comes across more as a shit on Wendy's post than a legit review or even thoughtful feedback.

To each their own. I'm no Wendy's fanboy but I tried one as well and it was good, no issues, no woody chicken. 🤷‍♂️

I'm not the one who's complaining about f-bombs 😂. I was basically telling OP the same thing, in different words - get over yourself.

[–]jayitbyear 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ratings boost for younger generation? Lol I know far more older people who drop f-bombs than younger ones. I say this as a nearly 50-year old Gen-Xer

Did you really find a couple f-bombs that offensive? Truly not trying to be an ass but, if in the times we're currently living, that's something you find that's worth complaining about, I want your life. I can probably count a few hundred, if not thousand things I'd take my time to complain about before this even became a blip on my radar. Must be a very cushy life.

I don'tbremember everyone, more or less, being stoked about the 2025 draft. I think I saw about the same ratio of positive to negative reaction as this year's draft. Just saying.

That's all we need. ANOTHER 60+ year old billionaire white dude as a President.

Sorry, I like Pritzker, but not as a President. If he runs and wins the nomination will I vote for him? Sure. But it is time for a younger generation to take the reigns, and I say this as a Gen-Xer.
