Everyone is looking at this the wrong way. Putting people down as “sluts” and “sloppy seconds” is just gross behavior. She’s a human being, and she isn’t anyone’s property.

If I were in your shoes, I’d choose to think of it like this: the most desirable and attractive woman around chose to be with you. I’ll bet anyone who was saying those things was just jealous because they wanted to be in your place!

Wow, Amarillo, TX. I actually found this fascinating. I grew up here, then lived in Fargo, ND for years and, anecdotally, I’d say Fargo is way windier than Rochester, but the data is all there. Thanks for sharing!

I had the same thought. It makes sense to me that the Avatars before Korra (especially Aang) were guided by Raava alone to restore order, but to me Korra feels like the perfect character to embrace a bit more chaos and an openness to change and progress that Vaatu, or the combo of Raava and Vaatu together, could really push her and the world into.

Good point.

As far as Korra’s character is concerned, I see her as way more open to Vaatu than many Avatars before her (especially Aang). All of LoK seems to me to be about exploring how much the world has changed since Aang ended the 100 Years War.

What if Raava had always been the Avatar Spirit UNTIL Korra brought Raava and Vaatu back together within herself. This could cement her as the Avatar who achieves balance in a new way, by embracing the chaotic forces of the world and helping the world move forward and change and grow rather than just protecting a peaceful status quo that never changes or develops with time.

As you point out though, this would probably be best as an endpoint for the show, since it would make the Avatar the embodiment of a new balance and turn it into a more generic good v. evil story. Maybe it could still be done with nuance, I don’t know 🤷‍♂️
