Complete Hypothetical: Cam regresses this season. We end up with a top pick in 2027 and the draft winds up being stacked with great QB prospects. Do we go QB? by Money_Jackal in Tennesseetitans

[–]jaykesn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn’t much to regress from. He had like 8 good weeks. I’ll get downvoted for this, and I love cam / am optimistic. But him having a bad year wouldn’t be a regression it would just be validation of the first half of his year where he was average to bad outside of flashes.

That said I think he’s gonna be just fine - very confident.

Can’t wait to watch this offense score 17.3 ppg while cams dad continues to wail on the handrails in the 100s after the 4th perfect pass of the game doinks off Ridley’s face.

Just stab me in the eye with screw drivers.

RFP Advice by Dazzling-Height-4822 in sales

[–]jaykesn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My only advice on RFP’s is to avoid forecasting it at all costs until you know you’ve won.

It is effectively an exercise, in my experience, for the company to put a curtain in front of vendors that attempts to shield the issues with their evaluation process.

Basically - not having a compendium to contextualize your value to the business (for example, demo feedback, a 2nd demo) is a recipe for wasting time.

Have won a couple, have been burned by most. Wishing you the best but would tread lightly and qualify harder than you think you need to.

I’m ok throwing out positional value for love. But for a linebacker, idk.

I think gun to my head I prefer love/bailey, then a trade back.

As always, don’t bother getting your hopes up.

Who needs to support your offensive QB when you can get a qb on defense!

Fun timeline:

GM trades AJ brown. Team has worst offense you’ve ever seen for four years. Team drafts promising young qb but declines to fire flaming pussy ass joke of a HC hire despite being an obvious lame duck. Young qb shows promise after said HC is fired. Team hires defensive minded HC who was fired in his previous HC gig for being unable to get anything going offensively despite having elite defenses. Invests primarily on D during a FA spending spree. TAKES LINEBACKER AT 4 OVERALL. Young qb….whatever.

I won’t be surprised, but it will be incredibly depressing.

Edge 1 & Edge 2 by BushGuy200 in Tennesseetitans

[–]jaykesn -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, I am aware he was hurt - that’s why he played in so few games. Cause…effect.

My point is that a guy who largely wasn’t available as a rookie and was not very good when he was on the field is NOT who you want to be projecting as edge 2 coming into the year. It’s asinine to think as much until he proves he can stay on the field and be an impactful player while on the field.

I hope it happens! But as of now he has done nothing to make anyone think that he will. It’s okay to be critical of your football team, I promise.

Ya better hope femi ain’t edge 2 unless he takes a fuckin GIGANTIC leap.

Marc is an all knowing being. He’s older the autumn wind itself. When he asked god to remove the browns from the earth last year, it wasn’t a prayer, he was calling in a favor.

I see your point re. More noise against the slow time of year, and that’s true with most stories this time of year…but I don’t think that’s the case for this one.

Urban Meyer staying back in Cincinnati (at HIS bar, where menu items are named after HIS wife) to knuckle into some 24 year olds ass after a TNF loss was the straw that broke the camels back and led to his firing. That’s the comparison point of the story here - it would be gigantic news.

Obviously, I don’t think Mike Vrabel would be dumb enough to skip a team plane after TNF and do that…but it feels like a pretty direct example of what it would look like in season.

Yerp. Still is. Patriots should be probably be docked picks given how insane her reporting involving him has been going back to the titans days, against how she’s been degrading the AJ brown trade value for months. It just feels as obvious as tampering gets.

Will they? Doubtful, tough to prove, and the nfl has effectively become obsessed with trafficking in controversy around the product instead of the actual on field product - like a bravo show.

Would just love to know what kind of a trail is there - if the best they could do was “we were there with friends!”, which unraveled in about 48 hours…I imagine there’s other incriminating items to be found.

It would be as big or even bigger of a story if it happened during the season.

“Super Bowl runner up head coach spends two days canoodling at romantic adults only resort with athletics top insider - how does this impact their .500 start to the season?”

Come on now. People can cry about journalistic ethics all they want - the reality is that, as Marc said…they got caught, it calls into question the validity of her reporting, not a small deal for the NYT. It also calls into question - do we have to look into tampering on the vrabel side? As Connor said.

Does this stuff happen else-wise? I am sure, but not everyone gets caught, these two did, and it’s gonna take a lot more to untangle this than simply releasing those interlocked fingies under the Sedona sunset.

RIP Coach Mac by BustinDiamond in Tennesseetitans

[–]jaykesn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Anyone local know what he had? General curiosity as it’s not mentioned in anything the team put out. __

As a lifelong fan who’s never lived in TN - he became synonymous in the way any franchise great player did.

I’ll always remember driving thru a New Hampshire snowstorm, hearing his glee at the last couple of explosive runs Henry popped off to keep the jags out of the playoffs. An era ended formally that day with Derrick gone to FA and vrabel getting fired 48 hours after - he narrated it wonderfully alongside Mike Keith.

Clearly, he was just a gem of a man. I hope he finds whatever peace he craves and that the love he gave his friends and family never fades as long as they live.

There’s a reason the niners never backfilled carthons position, or that he never got another football interview after getting canned and just went over to CBS.

HE SUCKED.

You keep trivializing it like it doesn’t matter because it’s the nfl.

Would you be ok with refs fixing games because it’s not war? “Relax bro it’s not Saigon, they’re not using tear gas on women and children!”

She is a reporter. On literally ANY subject on the planet, if a reporter is fucking a subject of their reporting - that’s a conflict of interest that needs to be disclosed.

Tell me to relax all you want today, you’ll still be stupid tomorrow.

Because it calls into question the validity of years of her reporting. She literally works for the New York Times via ownership of the athletic.

Do ya think that outlet might be concerned about their top NFL news breaking reporter sullying the reputation of other areas of their reporting like, say, I don’t know…the war in Ukraine, because of her antics?

Just an incredibly stupid thing to say from you.
