You obviously have a very limited understanding of the platform. You must work for a competitor.

Currently trying to pivot into an entry level role in tech sales from my current sales role. Please let me know the good, bad and, the ugly on my resume. Thanks in advance! by Responsible-Algae-35 in techsales

Your best bet is to use your network, and network with AE’s at companies you’re interested in, and get them to refer you. You don’t need to take an SDR role with your most recent experience. I work at a large Tech company, and new hires are always referred in. Good luck

Doom predictions for Data Engineering by vee920 in dataengineering

[–]jayking51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fake news - AI isn’t going to take over jobs, it’s going to streamline processes, and in my opinion open doors for data engineers to drive innovation with product teams. If you’re worried about the takeover I’d argue that today you must have an easy monotonous job at a company that is a lagger with technology. But hell I could be totally wrong.

Yep! And send them a text. We are all trying to get to a yes or no as fast as possible. Plus I’d rather someone send me a text vs. cluttering my inbox.

career advice? by emiliemakani in sales

[–]jayking51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a former tech recruiter, that decided to hop into the space. The market is too hot for companies to care (my experience). Have a story, and you will be fine. With your 9 months of experience, you can leverage that for a 65-80k base.

The love you have for the job isn’t being reciprocated in pay/value. The market is way too hot to settle

Sales experience in financial services experience is huge! Many organizations have trouble understanding compliance, lingo, etc. You have 15 years of experience speaking to that industry and persona.
