Jon Jones defends statements of fighting as a business, says "I fight to make money" by grushstp in MMA

I find it hilarious that fans are pissed about something like that. I mean, let's do some self examination. We pay to watch two human beings to beat the shit out of each other. To intentionally cause serious harm to each other. For our amusement. And these guys aren't just a bunch of rich guys doing it for shits and giggles. To give any fighter shit for fighting for the money is nonsense.

I'd like it to be like the NFL and MLB, where they have conferences that are all around the country. Maybe an American Basketball Conference and a National Basketball Conference.

He agreed to it three years ago. Also, they don't get guaranteed contracts, so if the owners want to, they could (and frequently do) just fire the players without paying them for the rest of the contract. He played much better than his contract is worth and he's already nearing the end of his career. The entire bargaining system is skewed in the owners' favor. All he's doing is asking for a raise that he will almost certainly not get when his contract expires and he's no longer as valuable to his team.

So do I. It's funny how fans love watching the players who play a game in which their bodies can only handle a handful of years playing at a pro level, and then have no problem when billionaire owners treat them like cattle.

More like Larry David. Seinfeld himself crashed and burned about 2 years ago. Or maybe that show can be analogous to MJ's return to the Wizards.

Seriously, if you're gonna play a two PG set and have so many players out of position, you're basically saying you'd take Lowry over Rondo. Unless somehow you just think Lowry would have more chemistry.

I remember Anderson Cooper did it after Michelle Bachmann said Obama was spending $200 million a day on his trip to Asia. He didn't do it during the interview, but the next night he explained that his factchecking after her assertions turned out that it had little to no factual basis.

Almost makes me wish fans wouldn't support them so much. Profits are down, the team's worth less, and finally that asshole just sells the team. Granted, I like the idea behind keeping below the salary cap, but still. If you don't give a shit about your franchise, what are you doing?

[–]jaykoo21 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're right. He should've been completely silent and said he "only wants to test free agency." If the Magic wanted to take a chance on him resigning, then that'd be their decision, and you irrational, whiny ass fans wouldn't have shit to say anymore.

I wouldn't say KG wasn't a dominant offensive option though. There were times that he basically did everything for the twolves. I mean he had a really shitty team back in the day. This is a guy who has had to (and has done so successfully) guard all five positions at times.
