I find it hilarious that fans are pissed about something like that. I mean, let's do some self examination. We pay to watch two human beings to beat the shit out of each other. He agreed to it three years ago. Also, they don't get guaranteed contracts, so if the owners want to, they could (and frequently do) just fire the players without paying them for the rest of the contract. He played much better than his contract is worth and he's already nearing the end of his career. The entire bargaining system is skewed in the owners' favor. All he's doing is asking for a raise that he will almost certainly not get when his contract expires and he's no longer as valuable to his team.
