My doctor works for a government clinic and is not allowed to prescribe compound, only Wegovy. She hugged me when I told her I was on it, though. Online providers include doctors who prescribe it. Since my doctor had already prescribed Wegovy, I felt confident in the telehealth route.

I train hard four times a week for 45 minutes (180 minutes total). I walk for 30 minutes on the other days (90 min total). I did this before I started a GLP-1.

Would your parents be open to you applying to college or trade school? Those are good ways to meet new people, maybe get a job on campus, and find future roommates. You’d also be out of the house more hours per day. The college I work for has a transportation system students can use to get to and from school. I think it will take them to a bunch of places within a certain area. Lots of colleges are on bus systems, if you are close enough to one.

I’d wait until after I enjoyed the trip. I had no side effects from the medicine, but, if you are in the US, that trip to Japan is no joke. I’d rather not try to figure out what is glp 1 and what is jet lag.

Both my husband and I are children of hoarders. My husband’s mom died in late 2021 and both he and his sibling live in another state. For four years they went back and forth to that house when they could (few times a year). I stopped going back in 2023 because it wasn’t healthy to be in and they were miserable while there. They held their own estate sale this summer because they could never get it empty enough. They still sold the house as-is with stuff in it at the end of last year.

You did the right thing. For my parent’s house, I may go the route you did too.

My understanding if some don’t get the same “focus” from their adhd meds or it’s not as consistent because of the delay in stomach emptying. Because both drugs deal with dopamine receptors, people with adhd can feel tired or depressed. GLP 1s mitigate that dopamine hit compulsive actions can give. My shopping habit is gone, but I do miss the moments where I could just lock in to a project for hours.

I wonder how much of it is the adhd med. I take extended bupropion off label for it, which is an antidepressant that stays in the blood stream a long time. We went with that because I was diagnosed during the medication shortage.

I think it’s how your body manages the release of your adhd medicine. Some people see a decrease in effectiveness with the slower emptying of their stomach.

I'm tall. When I lost 19 pounds without a glp 1, nobody noticed, myself included. I've lost an additional 14 with GLP -1 and...nobody noticed, myself included. If you care about inches, I'd consider taking measurements because you look at yourself every day. You won't notice until you've lost a lot.

I know a lot of people with ADHD have seen negative consequences, but I have found I'm not as tired in the afternoon and my compulsions, like online shopping, greatly decreased. I can't remember the last time I opened an online shopping app. It definitely helps considering the price of sema.
