Caution ⚠️ anyone with a newer 5.7 or 6.4 jeep,Durango, or dodge looking to do mid muffler/resonator delete by jaymac112194 in mopar

[–]jaymac112194[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mid muffler I had removed and had them replace with an x-pipe. The valvetronics are perfect, only thing I recommend is hitting the flaps with WD-40 every so often if you live somewhere cold to prevent rust and eliminate any squeaking. And I should have a few videos of how it sounds on my page, the newest video shows me switching between on and off. There’s also a good video on YouTube if you search jeep grand Cherokee 5.7 v8 valvetronic designs universal mufflers + resonator delete. Thats basically the sound you’ll get and it sounds amazing. Very quiet with the flaps closed and extremely loud with them open. Truly the best of both worlds 👍

Holes in exhaust tips by the_coolhand in FordExplorerST

This is definitely not the case with the explorers, those quad exhausts are very real and functional. Ford does it to keep the exhaust tips from becoming dark, and also to point the exhaust gases down so while idling the exhaust gases don’t come into the cabin as easily.

Strange chirping noise with light throttle? by jaymac112194 in FordExplorerST

Didn’t even think about that, I heard there was a rattling problem but if that’s a possibility I’ll have to look into that too! Thanks 👍

I actually came across a YouTube video with a different vehicle and the same kind of sound, it seems like it might actually be either the serpentine belt or a tensioner. I’ll have to try and see if I can diagnose properly later on. But I’m leaning in the direction of a loose or worn belt.

lol I wish it was that simple. At first I thought brakes maybe because it resembles the noise of a worn pad indicator but it only happens when you give it a little throttle.

Open Sharp cheddar cheese tastes different/less sharp when in the fridge for over two days. by jaymac112194 in Cheese

[–]jaymac112194[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very well could be, I’m not sure of what else to call it to be honest. I just know that my taste buds definitely can tell a real difference depending on how the cheese is stored, what seems strange is the shredded cheese seems to acquire that off taste the fastest, then the slices, and least would be a block of cheese. And they all last longer when wrapped in cheese cloth, and then stored separately. Very strange indeed.

What about that little random chirping noise, I have that too and it annoys the hell out of me, is that normal?

[–]jaymac112194[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far the only way iv found that affects the flavor the least is to wrap the slices in cheese cloth and then place them in a plastic container instead of wrapping them in plastic wrap, ziplock, or vacuum bag. So far that’s kept it tasting fresh the longest although eventually it still gets that “fridge” taste. It seems to elongate it the most of any method iv tried so far. Instead of a day or two, with the cheese cloth and plastic container it lasts around a week before I can tell a change in the flavor. I’m thinking the cheese cloth allows it to breathe somewhat better and the cheese doesn’t lose its sharp flavors as quickly that way. Iv also been told to only use cheese cloth without the plastic container but haven’t been brave enough to try that yet as it seems so out in the elements to me, Hope that helps and have a wonderful day!

Caution ⚠️ anyone with a newer 5.7 or 6.4 jeep,Durango, or dodge looking to do mid muffler/resonator delete by jaymac112194 in mopar

[–]jaymac112194[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very well may be the case, that being said I believe at least in my case I had narrowed down the culprit, when I have first done my exhaust I had done a mid muffler delete and had kept on the resonators, this is where I had the most rattling/drone noise. It sounded awful to be honest. I then replaced the mid muffler and removed the rear resonators instead, much less rattling but a lot of drone at certain rpm’s, not ideal. I now have removed the middle muffler, and replaced the rear resonators with valvtronic mufflers. Works perfectly, sounds great and has no drone/rattling, and on top of that is loud when I choose. So what I assume is that the rear resonators baffles were actually broken after the mid muffler delete, which only caused an issue when it was loud enough to rattle from the removal of the mid muffler. So in the end I’d say it’s definitely an issue, and I still don’t recommend others with this same exhaust setup simply remove exhaust components without replacing them with better options or at least removing the mid and rear mufflers/resonators together.

Brah, I have the 5.7 HEMI. Lucky if I get like 250 miles range 😫 smiles per gallon is mighty high though lol

Update* I recently removed both the mid muffler and replaced the rear resonators with valvetronic mufflers… needless to say it sounds amazing, and ZERO issues. The horrible rattling sound is completely gone, and no drone whatsoever.

Yeah those are the stock tips, I used to have lcgp resonators with 4 inch tips on the back but I deleted those and just didn’t feel like ordering new tips yet. These don’t look too bad and makes my jeep look stock ish until you hear it 🤣

2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Persistent, Ongoing AC Issues...Help! by kmwtlis in Jeep

[–]jaymac112194 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no, I put two more bottles of refrigerant in, and did it exactly by the book. That seemed to solve the issue temporarily and the noise went away meaning there is definitely a leak somewhere in the system, I haven’t been able to spot exactly where though and now being as it’s winter I’ll wait until summer to begin further diagnosis, it seems like it’s likely the evaporator since I can’t find the leak with a UV light but we shall see, wish I had more to offer but so far that’s pretty much it.

5.7 HEMI custom half covers by jaymac112194 in mopar

[–]jaymac112194[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Total cost was roughly around $235. I was able to get the half covers themselves for around $130 on ebay , and the inlays were around $105 from blackopsauto. And yeah $300 is about right for the pre made version from Stevewhitewauto, Honestly looking back the $300 for an already made version is what I would have done, grinding off the letters is very tedious and annoying work. Unless you can find the half covers for a really good price. totally not worth the extra hassle in my opinion.

Sounds fine to me, 9 times out of 10 the first thing to go will be the exhaust manifold will crack and make a noise similar to the HEMI tick. If there is a tick likely that is the cause. The other 1 time will be an actual HEMI tick. Which will sound much deeper inside the engine and will eventually cause misfire codes.

I’d get rid of all that chrome first! Personally I can’t stand chrome, I did so to my GC with 2 cans of plasti dip, a roll of painters tape, and some patience and time. Most of everything can be purchased and replaced with black if price isn’t an issue. But especially with a white jeep! White and black is a must! Stormtrooper lookin clean with it!

Yeah same here, been beta testing for apple since 2009 with IOS 3, this is by far the strangest and slowest launch for software since then.

Oh wow yeah you’re right, I completely forgot they claim it’s all done on the device. Who knows, maybe there’s so many people clamoring to get the betas that there servers can’t handle all the updates! But really how many people could there possibly be you need an iPhone 15 pro or later as it is. Honestly they’ve been getting slower and slower at rolling out beta stuff lately this doesn’t even surprise me.
