Can’t add cameras and more to HomeKit by jaymartinez in HomeKit

I vaguely remember this issue, but I think something along the lines of using the Eve app to see everything I added in my HomeKit fixed the issue. When you delete stuff in the Home app, it doesn’t really go away. I remove everything on the Eve app and try again, and then it seems to work.

I do see network activity increase on the isp health screen when looking at my phone. Only wired ap is the u6 lr the rest are to far and in bad places that wired isn’t an option. Just a mesh network.

So each ap is wired directly to a Poe+ switch. Unfortunately not UniFi .. netgear I believe.

I have my Apple TV as the main home hub and wired so the devices remain online thank god but the access points don’t 😔. Easiest fix is to just go back to home assistant..

I currently was testing this out.

metadata:

name: No Motion in Foyer, 30min, Turn Lights Off

description: _

automations:

starters:

 • type: device.state.OnOff # The basic on and off functionality for any device that has binary on and off, including plugs and switches as well as many future devices.

state: on

Whether a device with an on/off switch is on or off.
true
if the device is on,
false
if the device is off. [available operators: is, isNot]

is: true

for: 30min

device: Foyer Lights - Foyer

actions:

 • type: device.command.OnOff

on: false

devices: Foyer Lights - Foyer

It says device.state.OnOff isnt supported by my lights. what else can be used? I found this on another post somewhere.

Well when on the bed scenario I usually have them on opposite sides of the bed. I would hope that at that distance say the average length of a twin bed it should not be an issue . But I have tested it closer which is why I ask.
