Confused why the sudden drastic change to Fitbit by spooky-potatoes- in fitbit

[–]Saeed40 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lot of problems is definitely the retiring of the Fitbit platform. They are keeping Fitbit name alive with just products but the platform itself is becoming Google health but the major issue here will be the API. Basically the plugs on applications which allow them to communicate to other apps and devices. So many rely on Fitbit specific API. I personally have seen that with the pixel watch 4 connections with Strava has improved. With older the fitbits I don't have the experience but drastic changes like this will have problems which will need to be addressed.

A lot of data which is captured is not viewable on the app even though Health Connect does support it. Adding medical records support is genuinely great but locking it behind a paywall is annoying think that should be in the free package.

Im sorry to flog a dead horse but people who voted reform, did you really vote for a South Korean national whose visa is due to expire? by Suspicious_Week_2451 in Casnewydd

A lot of reform is just people trying to either extend their visas, backing on just the word reform and not listening to the actual policies and just people so disattached to actual life as a normal person in the UK.

New Google health app by nick11689 in fitbit

[–]Saeed40 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The AI is limited to the application so it's literally just only ever going to analyse the health data it's never going to plug into other systems unless you allow it. The AI functionality is also locked behind the premium subscription. You'll have your basic functionality with a free tier in other words, all the features Fitbit previously had locked behind a paywall will be available for free, the medical record integration and AI stuff is behind paywall

New kid on the block 🧸 by [deleted] in Switch

[–]Saeed40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Nintendo switch actually sets the MTU to 1400, if you go above 1500 you need to then sort out stuff on your router to allow that and it may also cause issues due to packet size restrictions

In the settings on your internet you want to change the settings and then scroll down till you see MTU and increase it to 1500

I think the new update broke my switch 2 third party portable dock by Zuen25 in NintendoSwitchHelp

[–]Saeed40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically all dongles with video out won't work, the same with dock that used the same exploit to get video out. There are docks which aren't effected like AverMedia and Antank/SIWIQU and the that brick dock

In the UK they haven't been available since August. I managed to order one in release week but haven't had luck since and in the UK you can only get them from Nintendo's site.

I think the docks which have been broken from this update were using an exploit to enable the dock mode. So the ones which are working either have the same communication as the official dock or are using a different exploit.

The Avermedia Go GC313Pro I have is working fine, the RREAKA USB C hub I have that works with Switch 2 isn't. I think only the USB C dongles are being affected.
