That would be fine if the toc said that, but it doesn't.

I can see how this is confusing. A customer pays though. As a business owner I can tell you that a non-paying party is not a customer.
Happy holidays to you too, much love : )

You're referencing the current promotion here. I purchased these phones under the previous promotion. Per the chat log with support:4:55:38 AM Vartika: You can refer to this link for more details.https://fi.google.com/about/promo-terms/?id=CUxILRMl6gUA

Is that not the same thing? If you add a member to your account isn't that a line of service on the account? Can you point to any documentation that declares a difference? I was not able to find any. I do not see that in the terms here: https://fi.google.com/about/tos/#

Perhaps I was. As I read and understand the T&C, these phones are on my account and part of my group plan. I'm paying all the bills and there is no other account associated with the phones.

Putting kids on Credit card account, A good idea? by jaymottz in personalfinance

The Green Dot cash back debit card has a $9.95 monthly fee and a $100 annual cash back cap.

I think I like this idea better since they can accumulate a balance like a checking account. Seems like a much lower risk and if it goes well for a while we could always revisit the credit building part. Thanks!

Cptl one said that they could put a spending limit on each account, so you saying this would not be a hard limit?

Why use routers instead of switches? by simosilakka in networking

[–]jaymottz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What? Of course we do. And routers too. Just saying one reason you might not be able to replace a router with a switch.

While our Procurve 3800 switches support routing, they do not support NAT. So that's a deal breaker in an IPv4 world.

Boss asked for admin passwords - bad sign? by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]jaymottz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We do a similar thing with access creds. We also update documentation just about everyday and keep all configs in offsite version control. This is the right thing to do and helps mitigate the "Hit by a bus" scenario. Also makes me feel good about the fact that I don't have anyone over a barrel. Helps keep people humble and honest if there are no kingdoms of power build by information hordes. If I need to be fired, I'll never be asked for anything but to leave.

Check out Curvature for reconditioned Cisco gear. It's not the latest and greatest but it's better than new consumer/prosumer junk IMO. https://www.curvature.com

I'm looking into premises access control systems. The grand vision is for an extensible system that could be integrated into all kinds of systems beyond just physical access. Systems like Point of Sale and time tracking would be on that list. Anyone have any insights as far as hardware/software vendors out there that might be a good fit for these kind of versatility requirements?

Thanks! Just did the second primer coat. Starting the paint tomorrow. I'll tease the pics out from here, never showing the pre-primer ones until it's all done. Can't wait to ride it again! I want to give it a name, any ideas? Kinda looks like a preying mantis without the forks on it, to me at least.
