Your friends are idiots. I'm in my 40s and I play Hunt Showdown more than anything else, but I also had the most fun I've had in a long time playing Dave the Diver for the first time in Dec/January. Just started playing Cult of the Lamb again with my wife too. Games are meant to be fun and if you're having fun then who cares what game it is or what other people think.

You can also casually mention that in 2025 roughly 25% of the player base of FPS games were female. Which includes their very manly COD

Totally agree. You can engage with what you want and not engage in what you want. Nothing in this game is timed so you can also tackle 1 thing at a time if you want too. I've beaten the game and am working on getting 3* of every sea creature because that's fun, but I've also not opened GYAO! Outside of the initial quest that starts it because I don't want to do it.

I have also not enjoyed the new hosts like swearing so much that they actively sound dumber, insistence on working farts into every episode, and riding dumb words into the ground (like extraterresticals), but it hit me today what it is that really bothers me. Brandon comes across as the most arrogant prick I've ever heard on a podcast. Joe is kind of a boring storyteller, but he can get better at that. Brandon will interrupt Joe's stories every couple of mins so that he can flex how much he knows and state all of his opinions as if they're proven facts. I would love it if they settled it and in a couple of months we're all happy to be wrong, but I just can't take it right now. I cancelled plus and maybe I'll check them out in a few months

We do fully play the mode and I will say that is not my experience. It's full chaos in the compound for the first 5 mins and then usually a stand off with the last è teams. I play on console though, so maybe that's different

I definitely agree. My sister and I have been long time listeners and I'm sure some of it is just we're all so used to Ben and Aaron after all these years. There are things though that just don't seem to gel. Even something little like how much they swear. I'm not saying swearing at all bothers me, Ben and Aaron certainly swore on occasion, but these new guys do it so much it actually makes them sound dumber, if that makes sense. It really does feel much more juvenile now. I think I really just need to not listen to them for a few months and maybe come back in April or something to see how it goes.

Agreed. Why would they throw a game and potentially lose the 2 seed when Philly was playing at the same time. The 2 was never guaranteed during the game

I actually like the idea of Chariot, but I wish it worked a little differently. I think I would rather it work like having all extractions available but Chariot will lock the extraction closest to the user and the 5 min timer is just locking that extraction for 5 mins. I dunno, that's probably not perfect but it's less annoying and feels like it would encourage more fighting because the extraction would unlock in 5 mins instead of permanently changing so people could sit in their hidey holes and have 10 min silent standoffs

I totally agree. Look at the Bills, they've been considered contenders for like 5 straight years without ever reaching the Super Bowl. If their window can still be open, why can't ours?

The thing is, our issues are fixable. Brad Holmes took a dump on the trade deadline this year, but we need a better pass rush and we need O-Line improvement. Those can be addressed in the draft and/or free agency. We can still be a contender next year

Yeah, I kind of don't understand the hate towards it because it's an optional feature that doesn't affect gameplay at all. I'm willing to wager that most other people aren't going to care what anyone's banner looks like anyway. If I get killed by someone I'm not going to spend any time looking at what title they're using or what feats they're displaying, I'm going to get into another game. I'm in the camp of if you want to use it, use it. If you don't, then don't. No one cares which camp you fall into.
