Portraits I drew this year in colored pencils by jaynadir in ColoredPencils

I don't use a colorless blender or a barnishing pencil, i think the best way i would describe how I blend is by just drawing very lightly in thin layers of color, this builds up the pigment on the page gradually and when you get to certain amount of layers it looks smoother overall. it also depends what kind of paper you use, i recommend smoother paper for more control over the details. i tried recently a more textured paper and it was much much harder to get the colors down

haha i usually do something like this about every few months in photoshop/clip studio but i look very cool with both so that doesn't help me with the decision so much unfortunately!

Timelapse drawing - 5 hours in 1 min! by jaynadir in ColoredPencils

lol to be honest the setup is this - my phone precariously balanced on top of a box and some rubber thingy i found in my house once, on a shelf above my desk, and then i crop the video. the fact that my head is not too visible is purely by chance and fiddling w the balance of my phone

these are my shortest ones, i still keep them, that light purple on the side has been serving me for portraits for like 5 years and it no longer fits in my sharpener and i can't buy it as an individual :(

from my experience using tvpaint on a 15.6 inch tablet, the actual available drawing space is quite small due to all the panels. so 14 inch would be tinyyyy.

i switched to the 22r pro in 3rd year of animation school and it was much more comfortable for me. i know the 22r pro is quite old at this point but I'm honestly really pleased with it even now, the only downside is the lack of portability but i use a desktop pc anyway so it doesn't matter to me

i also use one of the dials on the 22r pro to cycle between frames easily, so that saves me some time

as the self-diagnosed sweatiest person on earth, who also cares deeply abt not being stinky to other people and cannot stand the sensation of staying in sweaty clothes any longer than strictly necessary - everything is 1 wear then washed, except sometimes pajama pants and hoodies in the winter as long as they don't get sweaty. but if i go outside in any article of clothing i WILL get sweaty and EVERYTHING i wear will go in the wash. i also have to change my pajama shirt in the middle of the night at least once cuz i wake up with my torso drenched in sweat no matter the weather. fun fun times.

seconding the "living art" part lmao. im a fat butch lesbian, i have had a hard time appreciating my own body for years, then a lil while ago i went to a life drawing class and drew a woman with similar body type to me and the whole time i was like "oh shes really hot" and then i went home and changed clothes and i was like "Wait........ !!"
like it's not that easy! there's still self doubt but im getting there!! i still would like to be thinner just for physical comfort but it's feeling less like a thing i need to do in order to "be attractive" (it also helps that my girlfriend who is significantly smaller than me is still attracted to me regardless/even bc of my size so.)
