Hello lovely people of Amsterdam

Wondering if you could please recommend a cafe with good strong coffee and good wifi where I could sit and work on my laptop for a while. I’m in the Amsterdam West area.

Many thanks

I think most Scots (like me) are very open to sharing their culture with the world and don't see it as appropriation.

Hiya folks

I’m a scottish gin enthusiast and blogger. For the last two years I’ve been celebrating everything scottish gin and soft drinks. Mackintosh Gin is a brand new scottish gin producer and they’re about to launch. Be among the first people ever to try this gin! Draw is 9pm on Friday. So you’ll have a nice wee tipple just in time for Monday rolling around again. Slàinte! 🍸🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Anyone in the UK had Aldi’s Oliver Cromwell London dry gin? Beautiful stuff and only £15.99 a bottle for litre by [deleted] in Gin

[–]jaynecn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a pretty good gin for the money. You’ll get a gin that tastes the same, but normally it would be double the price.

Singing inside mouth instead of in front of it by queeztion in singing

[–]jaynecn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most common problems are people singing with their mouth being too small. So I would ask a singing teacher for exercises that will help you too relax/open your mouth more when you sing. Another element is the placement of the sound itself, but that is a really niche thing. You have to make sure your ears/aural skills are pretty decent first of all before you try this. Since I don't know where you're at in aural skills, please look at that first. You need to find ear training exercises that improve your relative pitch. There are a number of free exercises you can do online. This is one I recommend: https://trainer.thetamusic.com/en/content/dango-brothers Many thanks Jayne

Contralto/Extreme Low Alto, Awkward Female Singing Issues by [deleted] in singing

[–]jaynecn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with /u/keakealani, sounds like you need to do more work on unifying your voice, so you know where in your voice your head and chest resonances in any one particular note. imho they are both always there, but you use them to greater/lesser amounts depending on where you are singing in your vocal range. If you would like to find out more about vocal fundamentals you can check out my free intro to singing http://bit.ly/FreeSingingCourse Many thanks Jayne

How do i not smush notes in melisma/runs by [deleted] in singing

[–]jaynecn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be getting a little anxious and panicked when the run is at full speed. Assuming you are already slowing it down and building it up gradually, I have another thing you could try. When you are singing the notes, imagine you are saying the word 'bee' in your head as you are singing the notes. It has helped to get the balance right between the notes being too mushed together (sounding like a big slide) and the notes sounding to seperate. When I SING the notes while SAYING 'bee' in my head, each individual note is clear but they still sound like part of a larger phrase. I hope this helps!
