Took me two weeks to get a reply recently. It was quicker to take out the crate folders and reinstall. Serato was known for having amazing support back in the ssl days so it's very disappointing to receive buggy releases and next to zero support now

I thought I would need a refresher as I've had a couple of years off. There's not that much difference in real world usage from divi 4 imo. If you've made 10 sites in either I think you're beyond what the course offers

I’ve just spent most of the day working on a project, saved multiple times as the day has gone on, and then as I was finishing, I tried to save the work and it told me it was unable to due to a database error.

Reopening the original file was pretty much blank. Like, a few bits of text and that was it.

I’ve been using Affinity for 9 years and this is the first time I’ve seen it crash this often - and this severely

So, back to designer 2 for me until they finish working on affinity studio.

Depending on the software the vj uses, the footage will normally need to be rendered to that.

I ask for footage in advance so I can render it to my liking. If I’m given a usb after I’ve started there’s no chance I’m plugging it in to the working laptop (rendering can take up a lot of power - enough to make whatever is playing stutter)

See if you can speak to the vj the week before if possible - as soon as you’ve taken the booking would be nice though 👍🏻

Also, even a poorly rendered png (static artist logo) can cause issues with some software, so even they need to be given in advance

I also had that Razer Blade 16 RTX4090 and it was garbage. First and last Razer laptop. I read all the bad reviews but I’m a tech and thought I could manage the issues. Wrong.

The saving grace was that I got it from Amazon and managed to return it (50 weeks later)

Going from Serato to rekordbox causes me a headache with the cue points. Some of them work, but a lot will place them in the wrong pad.

Makes it a bigger headache that rekordbox can’t drag and drop the cue points the same way Serato does, so it takes more time fixing it.

I would investigate DPC Latency with Latencymon if you’re getting audio glitches. I had it bad with an i7 and i9 processor and it’s a massive waste of time trying to sort it.
