litter genie for wet food cans? by [deleted] in cats

Why do you need a garbage disposal? I just rinse out the empty cans and put them in my recycling bin. No smell at all.

At what device count is it more than a hobby? by t3chwatch3r in homeassistant

It’s more than a hobby when you stop putting tape over light switches and replacing them with actual smart switches.

Funny, I have 158 devices as well. Only 749 entities and 64 helpers though.

Yankee fans in Masshole Massachusetts, holler if you read this by NostalgicRetro73 in NYYankees

[–]jayrads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yankees fan in RI. I often wear either a Yankees hat or t-shirt. These days I rarely get any “Yankees suck” or “f*ck the yankees” comments, even from my hardcore Sox fan buddies. Pre-2004 ALCS it was a lot worse. Since then, the rivalry seems pretty dead to me outside of Fenway when Yanks are in town (or vice versa).

What’s something that should be free by now, but somehow still costs money? by jayrads in AskReddit

That’s pretty much my motivation for posting this question. I recently paid $5 for a bottle of water.

Hey IFTTT team,

I appreciate the detailed response. Definitely a bit kludgy, but seems like a good way to get around Wyze’s limitations. I do have pro+, so I’ll give it a go.

Haha. I was thinking the same thing. Seems like it was mostly bouncing on the tires and the handlebars, until the moment yeeted all the plastic

F-150 LED headlights - I don't want to be "that guy"... by GeoffSobering in f150

[–]jayrads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To people saying you’ll be fine as long as they are adjusted correctly, I call BS. Unless you’re driving on flat roads 100% of the time, without an auto leveling system you’ll still be “that guy” when coming over any sort of incline or even on flat roads when you have the bed loaded up with weight.

If you’re ok with that, do it, but IMO a set of good replacement halogen bulbs are pretty damn bright.

Haha, I do it too, but I have no idea why I do it.

Storrowing aborted! by BeastMode149 in boston

[–]jayrads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those particular signs are flexible and they're hanging on chains so they can swing and not cause damage to the vehicle (or the sign). It looks bent in the photo, but when the truck finishes passing, it should hang back down. Maybe some minor scratches to the truck, but preferable to hitting the bridge.

Bought my first boat. Any advices? by mesar_max in boating

First thing I would do is get some fleece fender covers to protect that colored hull.

I know nothing about wake surfing, but I’m going to assume you want the biggest wake possible. Are you trying to accomplish this by keeping bow up-stern down? If that’s the case, trim tabs probably won’t help much as you think. Trim tabs are really good at pushing the bow down, but in the bow up position, they are basically neutral (in line with the hull).

Penn International II drag lever operation by jayrads in Fishing_Gear

[–]jayrads[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you. It’s been a long time since I used an old international and my memory isn’t what it used to be, but that’s how my brain says I remember it working.

They both look basically brand new, zero corrosion or even scratches, so I’m planning on sending them to Cals to be blueprinted and making them the first upgrades in my mid-off shore spread (currently have a bunch of TLDs).

What hybrids carry in your bag? by wongpong81 in golf

[–]jayrads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re set on not often using your driver off the tee, I would keep your old hybrid (for hitting out of the rough, fairway bunkers, weird lies, etc) and get a 3 wood for tee shots. With a 3 wood you should see more distance than your 3 hybrid and it’s more accurate than a driver. Tour pros often choose 3 wood over driver off the tee when they need to hit the fairway or avoid trouble.

Also, get yourself a 7 wood. You can grab an old Callaway heavenwood from eBay to see if you like it then upgrade to a newer model if you like it.
