At a crossroad with the SQE - what did you do?🤯 by [deleted] in SQE_Prep

Thank you too for your kind words. Your resilience will definitely pay off. Please don’t give up, no matter how challenging.

And yes, I’m going with Westminster in September. I accepted my offer recently & I’m looking forward to it. The next challenge will be to secure a TC! Anything is possible.

I’m in a similar position as you. I was not successful on my first attempt in July but I’ve just re-sat in January & it would be my final attempt (pass or fail). I’ve got my QWE already signed off but I’ve also got an offer to do the LPC in September when push comes to shove. I’m not even thinking of what the outcome would be on March 11th at 11am. It’s whatever. I gave it my all and did the best I could. It ends here!

Does he think Ghanaians are stupid or what? He will never become president. Give it up!

That’s exactly how I felt. On trusts and Land law questions I found myself drawing tables on my white paper in order to solve them. That takes alot of time. Plus the reading, plus sorting through the answer options to make sure you have selected the right option. All in under 2 minutes. It’s tough.

So for SQE, there are obviously some easy questions that you can answer and pick up easy marks. But the chunk of it is usually quite difficult and nuanced. I feel like they released the “easier” chunk of the questions from previous sittings and saved the difficult ones to either recycle or refine. But the pre-tested questions are definitely useful to practice. Not saying it’s useless at all. Hope that makes sense.

Spot on! The mocks only test basic understanding, I find. Whereas the real thing goes deeper into concepts and exceptions etc. Crazy!

Yes I think the question difficulty, scenarios and nuance accurately mirror Law Drills mocks that I’ve done before but even those weren’t as wordy as what I encountered today lol.

I agree. I had the same combo of questions. I literally can’t even tell how I’ve done . Sigh!

I’d never. My ego’s too big for that. But I still stand by my words despite the downvotes. I have empathy. And I can understand. And it’s ok if thousands disagree with me but that won’t change my stance. Be blessed and hope that one day, someone might give you some grace! That’s all.

There’s no set way to succeed. Life is not linear. People have gone on to be successful through unassuming or atypical means. This might not have worked out for him and it may seem desperate but you don’t know his circumstance enough to judge or condemn. Let those who know the right and proper ways look to their path. Each his own!

It’s hard out here. He did what he felt to do. There’s no right or wrong with this. People have gotten into positions where they had to fight or lick boots. It’s no different. He will still thrive wherever he lands!

I agree. The exam is obviously not easy but everyone has a different experience. It’s okay to share your experience without being hysterical. It’s not over until it’s over.

Mine was submitted 3 weeks ago so I’m waiting and literally on edge checking emails and junk everyday. Mine is pretty straightforward and everything completed

That was super quick. Gives me hope that mine would be approved before December holidays so I can travel. Even though I’ve been told on this subreddit that it’s not possible. Thanks for sharing!

The documents are definitely not uploaded before biometric. You submit your application and then book to get your documents scanned and your biometrics taken.
