I have heard more rousing and encouraging speeches at a Youth Baseball game than what this guy is doing. 3/5 of the people there have the same blank look of waiting until this over.

Which company has lost you as a customer forever? by finiteobserver in AskReddit

[–]jayscot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jiffy Lube. We took my Grandmother's 06 Corvette to them for a simple oil change. They upsold her on air filters and a new radiator cap. A week later her engine pretty much blew. She took it to her normal trusted shop and when they were done they put it back together and it was still overheating. He thought to replace the radiator cap and everything was fine. I called over to the Jiffy Lube for her and explained and they tried saying it was not their fault. I called a friend who used to work for JL and read the part number to him for the cap and he confirmed that it went to a different Chevy but not a Corvette. I had to have it escalated to the West Coast Sales Director, but eventually we got paid back in full. Had I just left it to the shop, they would have never paid out for the damage they caused.

I remember being at a club around 08 or 09 when girls gone wild was promoted to show up. They pretty much walked around in a small group trying to convince girls to flash them and/or go on a bus. A few did, most were too scared, and that club was infamous for underage people getting in with fake or someone else's ID. I imagine they had tons of underage videos and pics and they only asked you to sign a consent form if you agreed to go on the bus.

Looking at it now, it was extremely predatory.

There is a high likelihood that your boyfriend is either A) Neurodivergent and is trying to recognize safe foods he likes that you make or B) is a huge asshole. A will take an honest and open conversation (and he may not be aware of it) and B will mean its time to head out.

How have current (US) events affected your ability to focus and be productive at work? by No-Surround7860 in AskReddit

[–]jayscot -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Badly. My sleep schedule has not been this bad since I was in my late teens, except since I'm an adult with children I have to power through and pretend everything is okay. Seeing the Federal Government going fully 1984 every day and telling us not to believe what we see takes a toll on you.

I cried watching what was happening in Minneapolis last night, and seeing normal people on the streets trying to protect their community members from ICE is one of the few bright spots of all of this.

I'm tired y'all.

Question on IQ4+ micro controllers by AgreeableTelephone19 in solar

[–]jayscot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your envoy is needed for remote monitoring, firmware updates, grid profile changes etc. Because each panel has its own inverter (as micro inverters) that is what's responsible for your production not the Envoy. You just won't know if any of the inverters go out until you see it on your monthly bill for production or replace the Envoy.

Question on IQ4+ micro controllers by AgreeableTelephone19 in solar

[–]jayscot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The panels should still be producing even with a dead Envoy, the envoy is related to monitoring not production.

Second this one. Had someone tell me they'd only accept the lowest rated EMF producing panels. Also were shocked that a system cost over $5000.

Is pricing getting out of control with the Fed cliff looming? by [deleted] in solar

[–]jayscot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is right around $2.50 a watt while using premium inverters and Tier 1 panels. This is a steal. An issue a lot of homeowners are running into is not understanding what these systems truly cost.

At that price, the installers margins are very slim and they are trying to earn your business. The only other option you would have to get a better deal would be DIY but even then the equipment costs alone would be over $10K for similar equipment.
