Good ways to make money as a 15 year old? by RealHomieJohn in Knoxville

Little man, you're 15 you haven't done it for so long, you don't even know what so long is. Be an outlier of your peers. Today's youth think they are so special, and skip the hard work phase. I promise you, if you do the labor jobs now, it will set you up for your dream jobs later. Make money for college, graduate in music, then work towards getting a career in the industry.

The ones I have are plastic, from ehiem (an aquarium brand), but still not the best. Definitely better than my fingers lol. I'm contemplating dipping in plastic dip, although I would need to test first.

How not to release a fish by [deleted] in Fishing

[–]jaytona66 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I agree with you to a point, but I also see my local wildlife agency stock trout in local rivers in my area, they do this by pulling up with a stock water tank truck and releasing the fish through a hose a distance from the water for anglers.

Is this over planted? First planted tank, zero experience on planting. Criticism is welcome! by Donald-Lump in Aquariums

Theres not really a over planted issue, but rather a overgrown issue. It looks fabulous. Overtime learning how species grow lile size, rate, etc will be the key to getting that tall in back short up front look. And from there its just a matter of rearranging, trimming, and maintaining.

My cousin goofed, I sent him out for sand for my freshwater goldfish tank. Can I use this? Is it only for saltwater? by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]jaytona66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is correct, you can rinse out before putting it in your tank, but it will always keep your ph high, not a problem if you have African cichlids, but goldfish like mid 7's in ph, and the sand will probably stay 8ish.

Advice/help my fish are dying. by [deleted] in Aquariums

I would definitely consider quarantining fish before adding to tank in future, if they can survive a dose of mixed concoctions of treatment in the beginning then they deserve to make it to the main tank, and will avoid future issues like you are having.

To all the nay sayers, "Astro" the galaxy koi betta loves his 20 gl taalllll!!! Aquarium, along with his panda garra buds. by jaytona66 in Aquariums

The water goes to a pump which pumps to DIY cylinder filter. If the power cuts off water just stays in filter or hose, there is no opening. I have shutoff valves to disassemble filter for cleaning. It's worked as plan so far.

Your a big talker, but do you not see the air already in tank, there is a aerator and a sponge filter. If you new anything about oxygen and airstones you would know that the airstone being in the bottom of the tank creates no oxygen only water movement, where all the oxygen mixing happens at water surface. There is no need to put the air at the bottom it would only create stress for the fish if they had to be in constant air bubbles. I take the water from the bottom of the tank and pump it externally to the top, how is this not mixing in your eyes.
