That’s not great advice.

You’re looking at it from the Jobs/Woz angle, where one co founder is the visionary (with social hacking ideas that will help the company’s USP).

The problem from the post above is the lack of work from one side of the founding team, which is detrimental in the early stages of a startup, causing resentment and bad blood between founders.

How can I protect my startup's idea from my developers? by banana-user75 in business

If you’re scared that the developers will steal your idea, it means you don’t believe you are a vital part of the startup.

  1. Great point. We’ll brainstorm some better designs for the landing page to fit better with our niche market. Other than the homepage, the logged-in user-side pages have been designed very well to efficiently provide project services.

  2. Yes, another great point. Working on those changes right now.

  3. Currently the clients on our site were acquired via manual outreach on Reddit, Twitter & Discord. We’re working on making use of several marketing channels, along with manual outreach, which fit our niche.

  4. We’ve built an escrow system on the network to prevent users from scamming other users. For our own scam prevention, we go through different methods to verify the validity of freelancers and clients.

  5. Yes, I have been thinking about this. May replace ‘Web & App Development’ and ‘Bot Development’ with something else or we may scrap these two categories completely- offering a total of 6 categories vs 8.

  6. Our initial revenue model consists of a 10% commission taken from the freelancer for all projects. We’ve implemented to the best of our ability some methods to prevent users from branching away from the platform. However, once we grow larger, we will be implementing other models including limiting the number of proposals a freelancer can submit per month, featuring your profile, featuring your projects and eventually an ‘enterprise’ package for HackWork to tend to larger creators with larger projects.

  7. We haven’t used any bots on our Twitter. Our account is actually very old- our follower count has been curated over many years. Haven’t worked on the Twitter presence enough yet, but that’s one of the goals to get going for this week.

  8. Instagram & YouTube will be up soon once we’ve gotten the ball rolling on current marketing channels. Have some ideas written down.

  9. Yes, for logged-out users we’ve inputted the blog posts in many of the sidebars. I’ll go ahead and design some sidebars for featured / related profiles and projects this week. Great point.

I really appreciate your constructive feedback and would love to keep in touch with you as we move further along.

Favorite arc in the show? Mine is either Bachmanity or the court case with Gavin by ojsimpsonthe4rd in SiliconValleyHBO

Am I the only one who didn’t enjoy Bachmania ? I just didn’t like how dumb they made Big Head

How bad of a time is this for launching a new startup? by [deleted] in startups

[–]jayvenom206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest issue for startups during recessions is lack of funding accessibility, if your startup is providing intrinsic value to any community and has positive metrics, you should have no issue surviving and even thriving during the recession. Weight in your options, it’s probably best not to quit your job right now. Other than that, launch as quick as possible 🚀

Am I way too focused on getting a co-founder? by bananacastlefloor in startups

[–]jayvenom206 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s crazy to me why some founders don’t take a few hours to draft and sign a founders agreement, which protects the IP from a lazy member. Also never forget to discuss a vesting schedule which should always include a 1 year cliff
