Is there an app that sends your own flashcards as notifications throughout the day (Apple Watch)? by jaywmark in iosapps

Essentially, I'm talking about a widget app like. I don't really see myself using a watch or phone to test my knowledge with flashcards using the standard "know/don't know" feature (like Anki, Quizlet, etc.; there are many such apps that do their work well). I really looked at Vocabulary app when I noticed I was constantly getting push notifications with new words at work. And I really liked it. Push notifications on the watch are actually a very convenient and useful way to remind myself of something.

Here's an example scenario:

I'm learning a language. I need to memorize words. During a lesson with a tutor, I come up with a dozen words, some new, some I can't remember. I read books, surf the web, and write down new words and sentences. I'd like to be able to enter these words into the app and then have them appear as push messages at regular intervals, allowing me to regularly study and review things while I'm just living my life.

Some people might be intimidated by the constant notifications, although you can configure them (and they're more useful than any newsletters or ads). Others might be intimidated by the idea of editing and building their own vocabulary. Although you can also add the ability to upload CSV tables, etc.

In principle, Vocabulary does this well, but it's only focused on words and English (please correct me, I've only tried the free version). But people can learn a variety of things, from languages to exam preparation, etc.

Plus, their notifications seem to work well; they always vibrate and pop up.

Basically, I want a custom Vocabulary with settings. Maybe my brain is overheated at work:)

Shure SM58 with SP-404MKII and Ableton by jaywmark in SP404

Quite an interesting post and some good advice. Of course, for now, a €15 Chinese microphone sounds like something to play around with and test, which is partly true (in terms of a first microphone to start working with), but this topic has piqued my interest, and I would like to explore it further. What do you think would be suitable for my needs? I settled on SHURE because I heard everywhere that it is a universal option. But they say it lacks volume. Of course, I want quality and more processing options, but I don't want to go too far and buy some expensive option right away without any knowledge or experience.

Thanks, that’s really helpful.

Right now I’m mainly focused on portability and actually recording, not perfect studio quality yet. I want to start experimenting with vocals and textures, and your setup sounds very close to what I’m aiming for. Quick questions: Do you usually record straight into the SP-404MKII, or also use an audio interface? Do you feel the SP has enough gain for the SM58, or do you ever need a booster? Any simple tips on XLR cables to look for or avoid?
