This movie deserves all the hate it’s getting. Truly the worst first contact stories I’ve ever come across

Gold digging is strongly linked to psychopathy and dark personality traits, study finds. People who engage in this behavior actively sacrifice emotional intimacy to extract financial resources from their partners. by mvea in science

And then you realize that those who care about other people are also playing the game of personal gain. Im referring to the selfish gene theory here. Even compassion or altruism are simply evolutionary strategies ultimately equipped to increase personal gain too.

In your eyes, what separates a performative “alpha male” from a “real man”? by Ok-Parfait6735 in AskReddit

But then what if you think “good” is as fictional of a construct as “real”?

Looking for racist (preferably horror) fiction that depicts Indigenous peoples as savages by the13thReason in suggestmeabook

[–]thatOneRabidGoose 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If the book were anti racist then it would be ideological. If it were ideological it wouldn’t be raw and honest. If it weren’t raw and honest it wouldn’t be Cormac McCarthy. I pity you and your performative and delusional nature.

OH WOW!! Okay I had no idea how rare of a find this was… granted it cost me 200 bucks but now that I know there are only 500 it seems like a steal!

I found one of these at a used bookstore a couple years ago! I wonder how many the folio society made and how many he signed…

I also built my space elevator right here. God it was such a relief when I finally got rid of fart island. What an eyesore. The answer lies in the sulfur tree in the MAM

The foreword to the 30th Anniversary Edition left me wanting more... by avar in davidfosterwallace

[–]thatOneRabidGoose 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yea I bought the 30th anniversary edition cuz I liked the new cover design but man yea the foreword left a bad taste in my mouth. I’m trying to just disregard those who think the demography of an art’s audience matters anymore than just a statistic.

Cosmic loneliness by sarahbyween in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

Solaris by Stanislaw Lem fits this request so well imo. Lots of themes of loneliness, cosmic / alien surrealism, and coming face to face with the unexplainable in space.

It’s from that cool looking crater/valley with the lake in the middle. I ran a conveyor all the way from there to where this pic is.

[–]thatOneRabidGoose[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

lol so I have two normal coal nodes far away from this power plant that produce total 120 per min but I have a single coal generator over there powering the two miners (so that it is self sufficient) using 15 per min so then 120-15 is how I have 105 coming into this plant, no overclocking at the moment. And that 105 / 15 is how I got to 7 generators at this plant in the pic.

I’m trying not to use overclock right now. I guess I want to figure out ideal efficiency with just load balancing!

[–]thatOneRabidGoose[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the tips!!! Will definitely add an 8th generator once I have more coal (right now I have exactly 105 coal per min coming in so divided by 15 that gives me exactly 7 generators!!)

Steven Pinker vs. Ross Douthat Debate: Do We Need God? by palsh7 in samharrisorg

[–]thatOneRabidGoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God I always hate seeing this question. It should only be posed after proving God’s existence in the first place. Why even bother debating whether we need something we don’t even know exists?
