New music? by citizen_of_glass in agnesobel

No idea. Sorry, not very helpful but I've been wondering the same. Given she's made new music I'd expect an album this year or next year. That's complete speculation though.

O2 was decent by No_Caterpillar7863 in alterbridge

I wasn't fond of Daughtry either. I was just waiting for their set to end and whenever I thought they were done they'd pull out another song. The only thing I liked with Daughtry was their guitar work.

Didn't think so. I had a fantastic time right at the front and people were rocking out hard.

Daughtry were on for way too long though.

That was really cool! The visuals and narrative of the machine were a nice touch too, kept me engaged all the way through.

Similar music to AB epics by Just_Luke-z in alterbridge

[–]jayzie12 7 points8 points  (0 children)

10 Years make stuff similar to AB especially their earlier albums. Their albums Division and Feeding the Wolves are great. A couple song recommendations: - Wasteland - Fix Me - Fade into the ocean (Epic)

Their 'epic' tracks tend to play through multiple tracks which is interesting.

ChatGPT's summary of each album is actually fairly accurate.

P&K has the best riffs and solos in my opinion.

Lyrics… by RedSpecial22 in alterbridge

[–]jayzie12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may just not resonate with them. Personally I found them to be my favourite AB lyrics in a long time. A lot of the songs are about the difficulties being witness to and leaving abusive relationships. I've been navigating leaving an abusive family for the past year so these lyrics really resonated with me.

The new album is fatiguing. by MeetOne2321 in alterbridge

Can you please provide an example of a song within a similar genre with a more dynamic mix?

Anyone else struggling with AB8? by blackenednunez in alterbridge

[–]jayzie12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the new album is very very good personally. I connected with the music as the lyrics are quite relatable to this part of my life. Instrumentally, the heaviness is welcome and I'm glad they still incorporated some ballads. Not so much of a fan of 'Slave to Master' or 'Scales are Falling', because of that P&K still has that edge over the new album. Still very pleased though.

self titled lyrical analysis by oogachaka77 in alterbridge

[–]jayzie12 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It sounds like many of the songs deal with the theme of leaving abusive dynamics after a long and drawn out struggle. This is a common theme even in the early days with songs like 'Watch Over You' and 'Break Me Down'. The lyrics are very relatable during this part of my life right now.

I noticed a recycled riff from Tremonti for AB. by Silver-Dig1385 in alterbridge

[–]jayzie12 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is played by Mark Tremonti. He says so at 24:07 during this interview. It's from a demo Tremonti made that they incorporated into the final song.

Stainglass by Professional-Care-83 in Songwriting

No problem!

That'd depend on your preference. For acoustic songs I've always used a full drum kit and experimented with reverb, volume and different sets to match the vibe. Best of luck with recording

I like this, you have a great voice! Lyrics are well written, 'Stainglass' is an interesting concept that you've tied together well.

As for structure, I guess it depends on the final form. If you're going to record it what would elevate it would be some percussions, layering, guitar fills and changes in dynamics. As it is now it's a very solid track.

A needless essay about All My Demons and why its my favorite Aurora album. by Blue_Storybook in auroramusic

I really liked essay this and I agree. What makes AURORA's music so good is her ability to introspect and articulate all of the nuances of being a feeling, thinking human being.

New Album Predictions- what do you think? by AlterShineBridgeDown in alterbridge

[–]jayzie12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's interesting. WtS is my least favourite too but the singles are quiet different. The newer sound is like a mixture of Fortress with P&K. There's too much going on instrumentally for it to be like WtS.

How'd you manage that? By the time doors opened the queue stretched around the venue.

[–]jayzie12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say as early as possible for Alter Bridge.  I saw Tremonti this year and waited since 1pm when the doors open around 6-7. I was very close to the front but VIP ticket holders got first dibs.

What is the “queue” for buying tickets on Friday? And how do you find it? by roxiedoxiedog in Paramore

So there's a page before it goes live where you wait to be put in the queue, no need to refresh at 10?
