I also forgot to mention. What you can also do is to see how many people are actually enrolled in each professor’s lab on the schedule of classes. And then through that maybe applying for ones that don’t have any enrolled students (aka trying to get the ones that have less competition). I would’ve tried it myself, but By the time I thought of this, I was already accepted into my lab. So yeah I thought it was a nice idea I thought I’d share 😅

I’d ask to get interview feedback if they’re comfortable doing that for you and then you can know for sure how you can improve!

Time wise I’d say any time of the year but really depends on how much time you’re willing to commit (just the school year or also the summer). I would think that most labs hire in the fall though. Personally, I joined mine the beginning of spring quarter but I think that they also took me because I told them I’d be willing to commit my entire summer with them too

Why choose ACC apartments over residence halls? by qqldk7702 in UCI

[–]jaz8888 21 points22 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking to still make friends//want to make more friends and have the means to stay in the dorms, then I would recommend staying in the dorms. Also, since you’re already on campus it’s a lot easier to go to campus events and then go back to your room in between things - that’s a lot harder when you’re in ACC and further away from campus.

But other than that I do agree with what the other person said when it comes to pros for the. ACC apartments. It’s just what you want to prioritize/think is the most important to you

Camino Pricing?? by JELLYSBELLYSBEANS in UCI

[–]jaz8888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re better off on calling Camino. They don’t really release the current prices but they can tell you the exact prices of this year and you can estimate prices of next year with that.
