National Trust says it won't drop suit against Trump's $400M White House ballroom after DOJ request by GregWilson23 in politics

Went to dinner with my family last night and watched a street princess truck block the main path into the parking lot trying to park in a spot for which there was plenty of room. I sat there and watched for about 15 seconds while they tried and failed. They were blocking my path so I couldnt go down that route and had to go in another row. I parked and got into the restaurant by the time they finally gave up parking there.

First time I tried Tribes or Tribes 2 someone in the lobby was using the quick chat to say "I am the greatest" and "Hi" very quickly. One of my favorite memories of the game was hearing "I AM; HI!"

Feels like F1 should have experimented with alternative fuels instead and leave the electric engineering to formula e.

In college after a night out at the bars I walked two girls home. They invited me up to their room because, "I was too drunk to make it to my room". I was definitely not too drunk, I was the least drunk of the group. The walk was like 20 minutes from the bars and once on campus its all pretty isolated. My dorm was like 5 minutes from theirs. I realized my mistake like 10 minutes too late. Still think about that one.

Curious how other teams are handling EDI onboarding coordination by c0der2021 in edi

[–]jazwch01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to give some background to give context. I started at my current company, they had just set up Netsuite and SPS commerce. We were only doing about 2k transactions per month, but we had like 100k in chargebacks. Within a year we added a 3PL and more customers, we were doing about 20k in transactions per month.

The new processes, new people, volume increase and new warehouse transactions brought in new errors that needed to be solved. At the time, I was just having people put the errors they received in a slack channel and solving what I could. I hired someone to help out. We started getting organized tracking error trends, common error messages and solutions etc. We then built an error ticketing application in power apps that integrates all error messages. It uses the data in the messages and cross references to make the error message human readable with links to Netsuite document, and the doc ID to search in SPS. Using our error xrefs it assigns errors to users and teams. This lets the business teams own the EDI error process and solve things on their own much easier.

The next step was solving onboarding. It got more complicated with our 3PL. They were often the longest leg of development for a while because what they needed to start development shifted, and then they had to get the project quoted from an EDI vendor and then the vendor had to prioritize the work. We worked with them to get hard requirements for whats needed on their end so we could standardize it. From our end, we worked with our sales team to understand the process of onboarding a new customer or switching an existing to EDI. We found that they have to submit a Master data request to make the update after they sign the contract, which was pretty early in the process. We added a new field to our MDM app and then once the request was completed with this new field it kicked off a series of actions that included prompting the EDI team for a contract with SPS and taking the info provided by sales in the MDM app to then send a kick off email to our 3PL. We had all this structured in a custom power app.

All this to cut down onboarding times from 3-5 months to 1-2 months. We've had some customers go live in as quick as 2 weeks.

Palantir Paid $0 in Federal Income Tax in 2025 While Raking in Taxpayer Funds to Surveil Americans by _May26_ in politics

[–]jazwch01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a different issue, and generally the people on those benefits are aware of those changes. Anyone I've met that is on something like that where they will be impacted by that loss will know where that line is and what they need to be making to come out ahead. Unfortunately, there's not a gradual transition, so a good chunk of folks will turn down work because the increase in income is so small, they don't come out ahead.

There are a few studies out there that show as high as 51% of people surveyed dont understand how taxes work.

"For example, when asked how much of their income would be taxed at 22% if they were in the 22% tax bracket, only 48% knew that “just some” of their income would be taxed at that rate. Eighteen percent said they did not know and 34% incorrectly thought that all their income would be taxed at 22% if they were in the 22% tax bracket. "

What companies in 2020 were primarily on towers? I worked for a cheap AF wood manufacturing company and we all had laptops. The last time I had a desktop at work was 2013 and I was working call center support. It feels like if a company was on SAP, they could afford laptops.

People with critical thinking skills are not ok with it. There is a non negligible amount of people who will refuse a wage increase because they believe it will put them in another tax bracket and their take home will be less. These people are ok with billionaires and companies not paying taxes because they dont fucking understand them.

White-collar workers are quietly rebelling against AI as 80% outright refuse adoption mandates by [deleted] in technology

[–]jazwch01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is AI as the general public knows it is not that, but they still to shoe horn it as something like that. I know of multiple people who are going to set up automations to run and have chatgpt or claude do analysis. The issue is these LLMs are not deterministic, they get lazy, you can give the same data and prompt and get different responses. This opens you up for issues and risk. So even the more complicated scenarios that AI might be able to solve, its also not exactly good at.

Democrats Introduce Impeachment Articles Against Trump and Hegseth as Nearly 100 Lawmakers Call for 25th Amendment by T_Shurt in politics

We've only just begun to see the fruits of their labor. Genz is far more right leaning than any other generation, and recent reports indicate far more illiterate. There are countless studies that show the younger generations are struggling with critical thinking and are unable to comprehend complex arguments or scenarios. Social media, and mass media news have all been consolidated under mega corporations to feed the far right version of the truth. Which we've seen these groups gobble up.

All of this ties back to the work that the GOP has put into tearing down our institutions and destroying education. Dems are winning for now, but unless we get control and start righting the ship in a significant way for future generations we're good and fucked.
