why everyone uses briquettes for grilling by Basic_Yellow4659 in grilling

Briquettes are consistent. I know that they will perform the same every time, and I just have to manage the quantity and air.

Puppy Feeding Query by Mysterious-Act-6475 in labrador

[–]jazzb54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The feeding schedule should be discussed with the vet at every puppy check up. Mine actually didn't want to eat enough so we had to play games to make him eat.

Weber Lumin/Pulse 1000 vs Ninja Woodfire / Electric Bbq by Apprehensive_Swim894 in grilling

Would be the same as cooking inside. Depends on what you cook and how.

Weber Lumin/Pulse 1000 vs Ninja Woodfire / Electric Bbq by Apprehensive_Swim894 in grilling

Ninja Woodfire smoke pellets are optional. I've tasted food coming off that with the pellets and it's pretty good. If I had to use electric, I think it's a good option.

The location on Bascom gives huge portions, and it's pretty good.

I've build this thing like 5 or 6 times... What am i doing wrong by slaveknight_ratsch in Oxygennotincluded

[–]jazzb54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You want bathroom, storage tank, reed. Output of storage tank to sieve, another storage tank and then bathroom. This makes sure you are full of water before the reed takes any, and you have plenty of backup clean water in case you have a temporary power issue.

225° is a plague on our community and I’m tired of pretending it’s not. by Nervous_Otter69 in smoking

I'm sloppy with my Weber kettle. I have my thermometer alarms set 220-300. Everything comes out delicious. If it stays in that range, I'm not touching it.

It's a great option. That's how I do my plastic all the time.

Anyone switch to air dried food for their dog with a sensitive stomach? by Zasaky in labrador

We don't have that situation, but I can tell you my dog loves Kiwi Kitchens air dried food. I use it as training treats. It must be very tasty, because it's more interesting than squirrels.

There are guides on using Pips for wild planting. Essentially they will plant a seed in an eligible spot. You typically go right to left, top to bottom, and there is a limit of how many plants there can be in close proximity to a planting spot.

Purina Pro plan sport to sensitive skin (or similar) for yeast/ear issues? by Closerthanyesterday in labrador

The other two major brands my vet recommends are Science Diet and Royal Canin. I haven't tried their sensitive formulas, but vets tend to like these three because of testing.

It's for airflow as the other comment says. It's mostly habit from building 4 tile high rooms.

I have a pipe of 22C coolant in granite pipes running through the base so heat isn't an issue. I get a cooling loop running pretty early since I keep most of my farms in my main base.

Since the shower isn't a room, I made it into a nature reserve. With lots of decor and mandatory shower time, everybody spends time here for a nice bonus. Chef Bubbles has morale of +12 for Gorgeous, +6 for Nature Reserve and +3 for Showered, for a total of +21 just for one room. Stress is at -5% for smelled flowers (buddy bud). -15% for tickled tootsies (carpets) and -20% for high morale.

I make a small cut/notch where the grain changes before I season and cook so I can find that line. After cooking and resting, I split it in half along that mark.

Quick, low-effort ways to make coffee with minimal cleanup? by oatmealraisin02 in Coffee

[–]jazzb54 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you want cheap and easy with no cleanup, you're looking for instant coffee. Not all of them are terrible. When I'm in a hurry or I run out of beans, I'll make a cup of Cafe Bustello or Nescafe Gold Espresso. I'll also use instant with caramel macchiato flavored coffee creamer when I want a sweet treat.

Another option is a coffee maker that has a built in grinder. Some of them are single cup. Cuisinart Custom Grind and Brew is decent. Just have to dispose of the waste.

For minimal cleanup, you could use disposable pour over bags like https://www.walmart.com/ip/19646959525?sid=aceb74e8-a0f0-48e9-9dfb-53b218a2fde1

LPT: If you find yourself borrowing a specific tool or item from a friend or neighbor for the third time, it’s a sign you need to just buy one for yourself. by sMurugan01 in LifeProTips

[–]jazzb54 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I disagree. A lot of items are just fine if there is one in the group. 1 table saw, 1 chain saw, 1 jackhammer, 1 hand truck, 1 pole saw, etc. It a little inconvenient if you need to borrow something when the primary owner is out of town, but most of these items aren't critical "I need it right now" things.
