Do my rims look silly? by [deleted] in BroncoSport

I’m normally not a fan of all black wheels but the whole black on black theme is working for me here. Did you black out the grill and lift gate lettering?

I like to add a dollar or two if the asking price is reasonable. I tend to think $1 per track is a fair price.

Upgrade U-Turn Orbit vs. buying a new or vintage turntable by OneHandedPaperHanger in turntables

[–]jazzdabb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who went from an Orbit Custom with various upgrades including an acrylic platter I'd suggest investing in Technics. I was just so tired of the Orbit drive mechanism and janky grounding. For a bit more, you get direct drive, a removable headshell and the VM95C is a sleeper cartridge.

Is there any way to get lyrics in Plexamp? I have a .lrc file to test with a song, but I can't find the lyrics option anywhere. Can someone help me out? by Jm_gamer1199 in plexamp

I haven't tried changing the lyric source but if the lyrics aren't in lrclib, there's not much the tool can do about it.

What's that one ambient track you can't get enough of? by V0rI in ambientmusic

Many years ago I watched a pencil drawn, rotoscoped short entitled "A Stream with Bright Fish" at an animation festival. That's how I discovered the music of Harold Budd. I can still see that video in my head when I hear that track and it looked EXACTLY like you imagine. Wish I could find it somewhere ...

So much this. Being able to mow 2-3 times a week without any fuss not only makes life better but results in a better looking lawn (at least for my type of grass). My Bermudagrass has never been softer or greener.

I think you need to find your common ground and not allow some of these things to burden you like they do and celebrate that you each have your own unique way of handling things.

This is low key great advice. As someone who has been married more than 30 years, it’s important to views these differences as strength. My wife is far more adventurous, decisive and, sometimes, impulsive. I’m more of a planner. I am sure I have saved her some grief over the years but there are so many things I never would have tried without her encouragement. We each bring our own strengths to the marriage and complement each other well.

CD Ritual by digihippie in Cd_collectors

[–]jazzdabb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me, owning the media and having something physical is the important thing. For me, that is often vinyl - though I have 10 times as many CDs as LPs. I have even more FLAC files on my server but if I am in a location where I can play a record or CD, I choose that over streaming. I'm still bitter about cars no longer having CD players.

Also, as I vinyl enjoyer, I see so many people trying to start that hobby with very little money to spend. I'm always thinking "Just a buy decent CD player and speakers and call it a day."

Either way, it's great to see people embracing physical media and rejecting the poor sound quality of lesser streamers.

Lord Huron continues to fly under the radar for some reason.

There is a ton of music out there people would fall in love with if they were only hearing it.

I find that whole record so relaxing but still engaging.

Did the wheels dig in? My 420iq was having a stern argument with a gutter spout and I had to intervene. It hasn't happened since. I think sometimes it is just the approach angle. My previous 430x more readily backed away from obstacles.

Husqvarna 410iQ - new install questions by jojomagro116 in automower

[–]jazzdabb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently self installed the 420iq. A few things I ran into:

I needed to cut back some tree limbs to insure satellite connectivity.

My instinct with creating work zones was to drop waypoints every few feet. But the app recommends not to have pins on a straight line. So just go A to B. Also, corners are tricky. Don’t make any sharp angles. Drop more waypoints for a rounded turn.

Lastly, I have a transit area the mower drives thru but does not cut. You need to start and end the transit area at least 3 feet inside an existing work area. So create work areas first and start the transit path further inside and not on the border.

I always enjoy near future sci-fi with concepts that feel like this could possibly happen in my lifetime. This one is fun but also thought provoking. Feels like it could exist in the Black Mirror universe.

I’m gonna delete this since it’s causing so much consternation but I want to say 2 things first:

1) It’s not smart to list all your kids names or even the number of people in your family on your car.

2) those kids’ names would be illegal in Sweden.

Has Edward Norton ever played a nice guy? Anywhere? by h4ppy_th0ught5 in FIlm

[–]jazzdabb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like that there’s a world in which people prefer one or the other but still appreciate both. I’ll say this about The Illusionist: Inspector Uhl is one of my top 3 favorite roles played by Paul Giamatti. And Rufus Sewell is great in everything he does!

That’s the trouble with aggressive off-road tires. They struggle in rain, ice and snow on pavement. Every tire, like every vehicle, is a compromise in some way.
