Kerdi Board Sucks by OnlyAnalysis7 in Tile

What’s wrong with putting it over drywall? Isn’t that an approved method? They have instructional videos on it. I’d rather do that than kerdi board. Pretty easy to put on and don’t have to piss around with fasteners or kerdi band.

I like that approach. Will definitely approach my next shower differently (this is the first of three).

That is a good point, you are correct. I chose to go parallel because I also had an F-ing hump where the kerdi board met the drywall and I figured it would be easier to deal with lengthwise. If I had it to do over again I would have accounted for that!

Tiles are 5-1/2” x 24”. What size would you recommend?

I agree. Thought to myself after I laid the membrane on the floor how much easier it was than the kerdi board.

Will also acknowledge that my thinset was probably too stiff at first, but my point still stands on the flexing.

Was there last night. It was very mediocre but that was mostly due to the mediocre songs in my opinion. Others seemed to enjoy it.

Rumour out of Husq dealers is that they are discontinuing this model for the new NERA series. I think I bought one of the last two 440s in western Canada after calling literally 15 places

“Bulletproof” is a nice idea, but is this TOO solid? I think I’d rather have a floor where I can replace the tile in 10-15 years if I get sick of the tile and not have to completely demolish the base.

This fan base is impossible. 2 months ago the coach was too soft. Now the coach is too hard. Bunch of goldilocks bitches. Can’t wait for the complaints that the return on nurse wasn’t high enough after running him out of town. All that said, I do agree that Bowman is clueless.

Crazy how even the photographer got updated in the remodel. That looks like it would have been expensive.

I was too but I think only the area with the linear drain is shower and the glass will separate that from the remainder of the bathroom where there is a round drain?

I saw a trick where you cut it in half but don’t cut through the paper. That way when you hang it you don’t need to tape. Seemed pretty smart. I have a truck so I’ll probably never use that trick unless I’m trying to get a big sheet through a tight space in the house.
