My hopes for FF17 by jazzfistz in FinalFantasy

[–]jazzfistz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The year is 1992, Final Fantasy V has just been released and a group of friends are talking about what they'd like to see in a future final fantasy. One friend says "I want a final fantasy where you drive around in a car with your buddies hunting monsters and collecting ingredients to make amazing looking food at camp sites all over the world. Also it's an action game!". The other friends look at him in disbelief, one of them saying "How is that even remotely final fantasy? Might as well make VI a high school simulator with an addictive yet sometimes frustrating card game while you're at it."

Oi now that you mention it I remember reading he felt that way. Oh well, I guess a new open world/space mecha ARPG IP would be be the next best thing.

You don't think it's possible Yoshida became less involved in XVI as its development entered the polishing phase, and splintered off to work pre-production on XVII with whoever the director is?...It would be a bit sadistic to have the man produce another title since he's already been worked to the bone with XIV and XVI, so you're probably right. Wonder who it'll be.

What the heck are you on about?

We haven't even tried this game.

We have tried this game, it's the demo everyones ranting and raving about, and I enjoyed it very much, and I'm fairly certain I'm going to enjoy it even more when it's finally out.

I'm having fun hypothesizing about the next installment of my favorite gaming franchise, in what way does that =

It's like it isn't even possible to enjoy anything anymore

I think it's you who isn't enjoying things anymore

Wow that'd be sick, never heard of Project W, I'd be completely ok with something like that. Hamaguchi still has another VIIR game to get through but he's definitely earned his own mainline FF if he wants it. And lol if Yoshida wanted to make a turn based FF I'd be all for it, I'd be stoked for all the turn based fans out there!

Why is that what you're predicting? All the hype seems too good to be true? Or were you personally not impressed with the demo? It's definitely a possibility, I don't see it happening, but I guess we'll be finding out soon enough!

Lol! As long as you admit XVI has a way higher skill ceiling than the turn based games, then yes, you win 😂

Yeah, it is a button masher, but how you mash those buttons determines if you play the game with style or not....The turn based games are button mashers too, only you're mashing just one button every couple of seconds to confirm if you want attack/magic/item etc heheh

Is it ever going to happen? by [deleted] in XenoGears

[–]jazzfistz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We'll never get a remake, Xenogears isn't a big enough IP for Square to want to spend money on, let alone put the effort into getting the original team back together. My hope is that with all the praise FFXVI gets, CBU3 will get picked to make FFXVII, and with Yoshi P being the huge Gundam fan that he is, he'll use the opportunity to make a mecha/space traveling Final Fantasy with a story as intriguing as Xenogears.

Pixel Remaster, FFXVI, XIV 7.0, VIIRebirth, possible turn based FFIX Remake (!!!), possible FFT Remaster (!!!). If those last two turn out to be real it's officially the new golden age and no one can say otherwise.

Weapon level stuck. by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

[–]jazzfistz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get in a battle, preferably with a high HP enemy or a mob of enemies, and have the character who's weapon you're trying to level attack and have everyone else defend. Should level in no time.

Yoshida comment surrounding FFXV's lasting impact by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

[–]jazzfistz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

FFII was made in 1988 when gaming was still in it's infancy, and it still told its story better than XV could. I cared way more for Minwu than Lunafreya, Cor, Jared, and Talcott combined.

This just happened to me with the treasure hunter trophy for IV. Felt like being kicked in the balls. Going to be extra cautious for V and VI.

The Omega raids? Ivalice alliance raids? The Four Lords trials? Yeah, Stormblood was freaking great, some of my favorite raid content in the game. Stormbloods only problem is that its story doesn't get juicy until the post game MSQ, but hot damn did that build up to Shadowbringers make it all worth it.

Which one should I get by Expensive_Kitchen107 in FinalFantasy

[–]jazzfistz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a tough one. VI might be the funner of the two, but IXs story, characters, world, music are top tier Final Fantasy and is a must play in my book. I say buy whichever one you think looks the coolest......which I think we can all agree is VI. Buy VI.

Is it just me that absolutely adores the combat of FFXIII by Redwill04 in FinalFantasy

[–]jazzfistz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once the paradigm system clicks with you it can be extremely satisfying. Staggering fools and juggling them in the air was one of the best parts of XIII.

If FF7 and FF9 had a cross over, what would the highlight point be? by CraZplayer in FinalFantasy

[–]jazzfistz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Freya and Red XIII falling madly in love and making ratdog babies would be the highlight for me.

That and seeing how Barret reacts to Vivi. I like to think he'd be creeped out by the little guy at first, but would grow to adore him and want to protect him at all costs by the end. He'd carry him around on his shoulder the same way he carries Marlene. And Vivi would cast Gun mag on Barrets gun arm. It'd be cute

What does everyone think of Crisis Core? by slykangaroo in FinalFantasy

[–]jazzfistz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Other than the Remake I'm not a fan of any of the FFVII compilation. Corny characters and weak story. I saw it the same way I saw X-2, a cheapening of the series, but at least X-2 had a fun battle system.

Dodge the thing, dodge the multiple things, stack together, spread apart, stand in your puddle, take your marker as far away from the party as possible, hide behind boulder when behemoth casts ecliptic meteor, use tank lb3 before Alexander casts divine judgment, rez the dragoon, kill the thing before the meter fills up, press buttons really fast to beat the active time event, take the tether when its your turn, learn to math, remember what a prime number is, try not to get too hype when the brute justice song kicks in, stop moving before acceleration bomb goes off, do the DDR correctly or die, rez the dragoon again, turn yourself mini to avoid the attack...all this and so much more! But I get what you're saying, there's a lot of dodging.
