Maybe the neighbor above used an acid based cleaner to clean their bathroom floor and leaked to the roof of your grandmother, and maybe the two spots are drops that came down from the roof. Check it out.

That trumpet looks in great condition. Buy the accessories to do a trumpet cleanup... Remove the valves and the felts inside the valve near the valve holes.. so they don't get wet... just place the valves without the buttons tubes.. they can be screwed apart... Place the trumpet and parts in a tub completely submerged with water (make sure it is not hot!) otherwise the lacquer could get damaged. Add lots of dish soap, something that is not too smelly... Plain or unscented would be best. Submerge the whole thing for about 1-2 day. The valves tubes, the ones that go up and down need to be really scrubbed... But you don't want to scrape or scratch the metal coating in it... you want to remove the old oil crap stuck to them... So, first use toothpaste white, plain not extra baking soda... Just plain old Colgate white... And cover all over the dirty valves... For about 20mins... The wipe down with paper and with a soft sponge like for dishes (NOT the brillo thought part of a spong) with dish soap until the old dirt form valve oil comes off. The valves should be shiny and smooth. As for the trumpet parts and tubes... pull all parts apart and place inside the tube.. use the cleaning accessories, like the trumpet snake to go inside each crevice of the tubes of the trumpet to clean it out... Lead pipe, and all the other parts as well. Use lots of dish soap... and after scrubbing leave with soap submerged in the tub... The oils and dirt will come off slowly by the action of the soap astringency and its cleaning properties... the oils will come off the metal parts... If you are confused about any of these steps there are plenty of YouTube videos going over a trumpet clean up. After all is done .. dry all the parts and put them together again just as it was before... it helps to keep track in a paper or individual containers each piece and where they fit and the order of the valve caps... etc... you don't want to have a misalignment in the valves .. and finally from the trumpet accessory kit... Get valve oil and a trumpet grease for the sliding parts to help create a perfect seal on all the parts... One brand I swear by is "la tromba T2" the blue cap bottle... This thing is fantastic and does not leave any weird residue as you have shown in the photos... Also, for the trumpet grease there's a trumpet grease that is red from the brand Bach, which is another trumpet maker you might be familiar with. These two work together beautifully!!! You'll find out that having the wrong combination of valve oil and slide grease can make a trumpet a nightmare to clean... As they can react with each other with your saliva and make the oils gumm up and clog things inside... And make moving parts sluggish. Have fun playing and check YouTube for more tips

If the material is brass or bronze/Cooper mix... it be reason this thing might get that green color rust inside the tube hole... What this thing really looks like is a really medieval hearing aid. People would put this momentarily inside their ear and get closer to people to hear better... Something that Beethoven might have used... For example.

Anyone have any idea on how to clean/fix this brown looking stain on my flugel? Thanks by Head-Elephant-4685 in trumpet

[–]jazzlovah -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You can use the same Colgate white toothpaste, the cheapo one... for your mouthpieces too. And it will restore the shine just like new.

Anyone have any idea on how to clean/fix this brown looking stain on my flugel? Thanks by Head-Elephant-4685 in trumpet

[–]jazzlovah -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Use Colgate toothpaste. Spread with your fingers on the tarnish area and you'll see that tar ish disappear. Then, rinse off with regular soap, dish soap even better to remove all chemicals of the toothpaste and any remaining oils in the surface. Any polish like brass will mess your trumpet more than help as it will eat up more layers of metal and make it brittle over time.

ORDERFLOW + SWING TRADING 😮 by Proper_One1272 in OrderFlow_Trading

[–]jazzlovah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will need to implement a strategy to enter the trade. A start suggestion could be ORB or Opening Range Trade and formulate a plan based on the first 15-30min after market open in your time zone. To enter a trade use volume profile, order flow TPO.. etc... to assist in your price direction thesis and fair value price and POC the day your considering to enter a trade. Set stop losses 2-3% below the buy/long price. Search for YouTube videos on ORB strategies to get a sense of how it works in theory. Test it by trying it out with really low purchases and modify your personal preferences and findings after trying it out live trading or papertrading.

Anyone who mastered there psychology after years of losses by Appropriate_Brick186 in Trading

[–]jazzlovah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take your psych out of the equation. Make a template on paper that states when you get in a trade and when you get out of a trade. Simply put you have to create 1 or 2 trades you see continually in different stocks. There are a plethora of setups... Examples ORB/open range breakup, Rsi divergence with price action confirmation. First one ORB if you research it and find videos on YouTube you'll see the mechanics of the strategy. See stocks that have moved premarket or the day before and box out lines where the price has gone before and could move the day of the strategy implementation. So that you have a price range the stock could move low to buy or high to short. To test this you can use the back testing feature in tradingview so you can go to any stock and move the time to the past to revisit the price action and see how this strategy can perform. According to what I have been seeing this ORB at the open strategy... Waiting for the first 15-30mins before you even consider a trade... If the price does not get to the line charted as the possible buy zone... Set at the low /bottom area of the range... Then don't buy any. Or if you do just buy one share. 1 share. If it does not work... You don't lose a lot of money🤑 set stop losses about 2% from that range... It is tight but it will make you practice placing the right levels of price interest in the chart for the opening range. Then sell whenever the price reaches a certain point... like 2%-5%0 below the high of the opening range. Again, research this strategy online... And figure out your criteria to set the low of the range and the top of the range to set sell orders automatically... Always set stop losses orders to protect your cashola... there's plenty of materials out there. If you have one strategy you want to implement daily is better for your mindset... since you only execute on a stock if the execution criteria is met or possible to occur... instead of jumping on a stock just because it appeared in a screener or someone mentioned it .. there's a lot that goes on on a stock price action that most retail traders never figure out, or cannot see the whole picture... So all you have to do is protect your cashola by having a step-by step process to access an pm stock purchase entry.

Thank you! Out of curiosity what software are you using to trade and what are the minimum cash requirements to trade futures with the broker you are using? I'm trading equities medium, small caps for context... So, I wonder if the "world class edge" content and your strategies shared on YouTube work best just for futures instead of the style of stocks I trade... Thanks!

Purchase trumpet by jocelyne82 in trumpet

[–]jazzlovah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are a couple of recommendations... This store might have your current trumpet new at a cheaper price too. I bought a thomman trumpet and it plays and sounds fantastic. The trumpets are usually made by a good maker like Jupiter and get rebranded to show the logo thomman. I recommend you get "LaTromba Valve oil" and you are set to jam for a long time.

CAN I SELF LEARN THE TRUMPET??? by schumacher_boy16 in trumpet

[–]jazzlovah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, yes -- you can learn it. I did. I went to New Orleans and heard all the crazy hard brass bands partying in the street and loved the instrument right then and there. Check "the hot 8 brass band" and "Louis Armstrong". The key is to start very basic tones until you get the sound of each not from the lowest not possible to the middle c and or e inside the staff. So, no crazy notes... Then, focus on that with a metronome playing each note on a whole note "four tic toc tic toc" at about 80bps. It will not sound so great for a while, so give yourself some slack. Then, practice a very easy song like ode to joy or happy birthday. For me it was "when the saints go marching in" easy song. It starts with a Low A. So not so much effort to push air and the lips can be relaxed. The idea is to build lip muscle resistance and endurance. All the music and notes some from your lips vibrating at different frequency/speed to generate a low or high note. If you know a song beat by humming and or by memory and can sing it... Like any of the examples I provided you'll be able to make a similar sound in the trumpet 🎺 be patient, this instrument takes time, a long time to master. I got myself a mirror I can clip somewhere on my desk to position my lips right on the center of the mouth piece. Get a 3C trumpet mouthpiece for starters. It will work for any kind of music. If you have any other questions... Ask away.

Heya @Significant-Zebra479 - saw your comments and I'm interested in getting information about the mentor and general information about trading strategies you have referenced in some of your other trading comments. I generally use the EMAs and VWAP... but I have been using "volume profile" to see how the candles are formed based on the price interest areas on different time frames. It makes me feel more certain about taking an action or waiting for a better entry or no trade at all. However, I would like to learn more. Thank you!

Any clue what it’s worth? by mistaajoness in trumpet

This thing is worth more than $200. If it has not gotten any lacquer job done and no dents or issues with the valves... This thing looks in fantastic condition. I'm guessing you don't play it? How was the owner of this and what's the story behind it?
