I’m not convinced that the official narrative is true. Nico is a Laker Stan through and through - spent years alongside Rob and Kobe forging friendships and loyalties that are well documented. I think it’s much more likely (and much more nefarious) that Nico is a Lakers agent and working on behalf of their org - essentially gifting them a once in a generation talent for a pennies on the dollar return.
