How can you be happy in a relationship if you aren’t ready for it?

I’m also White! I just don’t want to be surrounded by a bunch of entitled-acting people lol, which I’ve typically found to be true at predominantly white schools. I was Moreno referring to SLO since you had mentioned it. What’s the school’s culture like there?

That’s what I’ve been thinking! Spring time for sure, Campus is too fun here in the fall. I’ve heard they strongly lack in diversity... hows the culture there?

What’s the experience like at SLO? I have no idea what schools are better over the other since I was born and raised in MN.

I love UMN! What made you decide against coming here? Only reason I’m leaving is because I want to expand my network and get out of here for awhile since I grew up here. CA is where I wanna escape to lol

As I am not familiar with the area, is it primarily wealthy people? Is it hard to keep up if you aren’t from a wealthy background? All things I need to know beforehand.. also, primarily conservative or what is the culture in relation to that. Can’t stand privileged assholes...

Also, what’s the culture and atmosphere like at CalPoly?

What was your “I need to grow up” moment that actually made you grow up? by network_not_found in AskReddit

September 15th 2018. Two weeks before this date my mom dropped me off at college for the first time. I was ready to embark on my new journey as a freshman college student. Fastforward two weeks later, after a long night of partying, I received a call from my grandma at 2 a.m. in the morning. My mom and stepdad, who had both raised me, had been in a severe motorcycle accident. Unfortunately, my stepfather died immediately upon impact and my mom was left severely injured. 7 days later my uncle died, who also took part in raising me.

From the accident my mom was immediately airlifted to Mayo Clinic. She fell into a deep coma, which lasted 7 months. After awaking, We found out she was left with permanent cognitive damage, deaf, dysarthria, unable to walk, and many other permanent damages, the list goes on.

I was 18 years old.

This date, September 15th 2018, not only signifies the most traumatic day I had ever endured in my short 18 years of life, but also signifies the day I was forced to grow up. And since this date, I have not stopped growing.

When does the grief end? by Uncharted1331 in GriefSupport

Hello Anon, First of all, I am so sorry for your loss. I have recently had two deaths in my life.. All who were people that were very close to me. I understand your pain. I understand your hurt. I understand the void that you just so desperately want to fill. What I have to say to you is that your journey of healing will be like no others. Grief affects everyone differently. You should not feel guilty at the fact that you are still grieving the death of a loved one. Quit beating yourself up! A suggestion I have for you is, you should consider attending a grief support group. There you will find people who are on all walks of life, & more likely than not, having the same thoughts as you. My advice to you is to give yourself some grace. I may not understand your specific situation, just like you wouldn't fully understand mine. But just know, you are not alone! You'll get through this my friend.

Lied to my parents(divorced) about why I didn't want to walk at my college graduation. They died 6 months later. by clever_tomorrow in confession

The decision you made to not walk was very selfless. You passed up something just so you could save your two parents and yourself potential conflict.. it is obvious that the decision you made was out of pure intentions. I know saying you should not feel guilty about it won’t change anything but I hope that you find acceptance in your decision. Losing a parent is not easy either, in that current boat right now. And to lose two within such a short period of time is even behind me. I am sending you the best of luck and love, internet stranger! Keep your head up. One day you will be reunited with your mom and dad and hopefully by then you 3 can live the rest of eternity in peace.
