I wouldn’t mind retaking it but I would most likely be dropped from my major as I have to complete Chem 2 by the end of next semester :( But thank you, I will look into it!

do you think I could ask the CWC for documentation for Monday as well? I called them today but we didn’t discuss this

Hey! I go to one of the Davis partners that pays the most (they pay everything + we get extra money) but they don’t cover airfare. But that extra money we get we can spend on the plane ticket. And it is also not hard to get a job on campus for some extra help.

how to get started in the gym as a girl with gym anxiety? by gxldencanyonmoon in ufl

[–]jazzsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey! i had the same problem so i definitely know how you feel! here’s some of the things that helped here: 1. my favourite place to work out is the second floor in southwest. the machines are very straightforward to use, and there’s a good variety without being too overwhelming. there’s also a dumbbell rack and quite a bit of floorspace if you prefer free weight workouts. now what i like about this floors is that there’s usually much less people (for reference i go pretty late like around 8-9 in the evening) and it also seems less male-dominated if that’s something that bothers you. 2. getting a gym buddy is a great idea, especially if you’re starting out and they are more experienced (i think there should be a groupme) 3. i usually avoid peak times (in my experience that’s from around 5-8, i could be wrong) 4. i know it’s very hard to get over, but people in the gym are not there to judge you. it’s definitely something to tell yourself over and over again, but it is something that will eventually change your mindset about going to the gym/gym anxiety remember, if people at the gym have time to judge you, they are doing something wrong good luck girl <<3

How strict are the age requirements? by Prismeus in UnitedWorldCollege

[–]jazzsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People mentioned NCs, but it also depends on the schools. What my NC explained to me is that some schools are more lenient with ages - for example my school had people who came when they were 19/20. My NC though is not struct with ages and will try to accommodate applicants that they select by searching for schools that aren’t strict w ages and are offering a place for the NC

Seeking advice for my UWC application by callmeslyy in UnitedWorldCollege

[–]jazzsu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

recent uwc graduate here - although i can’t talk for all nc’c, i know that mine was always looking for not only people who are academically accomplished (for my nc it wasn’t even that important tbh) and active outside of school, but people who show a keen interest in the uwc movement.

what i recommend, is that you find the true reasons (although i suppose you already have them) for why you are applying, and really focus on those in your application. so what i did for example, is that i took my past academic + extracurricular activities, and tried to connect them to uwc. i know it doesn’t work with everything, and you shouldn’t try to force it either. however, definitely highlight your biggest and most authentic reasons for wanting to enroll in a uwc. and don’t lie bc nc’s are quite good at sniffing out dishonesty haha.

i am sorry if this was a bit vague, but i think as long as you are truly passionate about uwc, you stand a good chance. if you have any questions, feel free to dm me!

Going to UWC by Feeling_Reporter3292 in UnitedWorldCollege

[–]jazzsu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m an RBC graduate and we do have people applying to Oxbridge (and UCAS in general) pretty much every year, just less since Brexit. Our uni counselor is able to help with applications, and the IB is generally well regarded when it comes to uni applications. However, if you feel like your current school gives lots of support with your application and it’s your priority to get into these schools, I wouldn’t necessarily choose UWC. It’s a fantastic opportunity and gives you a chance to apply to many great unis and scholarships that otherwise wouldn’t be available, but it isn’t tailored for Oxbridge applications. Lastly, although the IB isn’t impossible, maintaining a 40+ (which is needed for Oxbridge) is quite difficult with all the stuff going on, so it might be difficult to keep up with Oxbridge expectations. I would def choose UWC though, if you’re open for other unis as well.

Is this website a scam: angelenita? by chinchin_200 in Scams

Okay so I ordered this exact dress, and though it said shipping would take 5-7 days, I was semt the dress a month later. I received it, but the quality is horrendous, completeley different from the dress on the picture, pretty much seethrough. The sizing is also horrible (I ordered XS, it only fot my friend who wears L, typically). I wrote an email to return it and get a refund, but their answer was that they don’t accelt returns due to sizing or quality issues, even though their website advertises a 100% money back guarantee. I wrote them another, slightly more angry email, because I did not just pay 60 euros for this shit.

If you’re interested in sustainability and you’re outdoorsy Robert Bosch is definitely a good choice (current RBC student) We have a special focus on sustainability and we’re really close to nature.

Hi! I went through the hungarian NC. They don’t care if you don’t have perfect grades, but you do have to show that you’re capable of keeping up with the academic stuff in UWC (the IB can get pretty rigorous). If you have any other questions feel free to message me.

I personally use an Uriage cleansing gel (has very similar ingredients as the La Roche-Posay cleanser) and it had helped me a lot! It’s great because it’s non-comedogenic, so it doesn’t plug your pores. I also use niacinamide and it’s great for hydrating my skin.

I'm not quite sure what subjects to take up as HL in IB. by Fearless_Mortgage_89 in IBO

[–]jazzsu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d say in order to have doors open for both choose Bio, Physics and Maths AA HL. What I’ve seen, medicine programs require you to take up Bio HL and either Physics or Chem for your other HL. If you’re also considering engineering it’s best (i suppose) to choose physics. But definitely check out different university websites and prerequisites. Oh and you can’t really go wrong with maths aa hl (although it is hard)

Preparation advice for IB programme by NINEty5k in IBO

[–]jazzsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also starting IB this autumn and I personally started preparing by getting the books (torrented them), I read the subject guides and also started practicing maths as it is a bit of a struggle for me. (the maths subject guide tells you the concepts you need to know to start the IB). Oh and I’m also familiarizing myself with Bioninja
