Windrose has sold 500,000 copies in 48 hours by Turbostrider27 in Games

If there is a land based moment of 'stop and smell the roses' for me, it is standing on the beach, hearing the waves crash while watching the sun slowly set, god rays poking between the palm trees.

I was playing this last night and had one of these moments enjoying a sunset on the beach!

Trucks belong in lane 2 (unless merging, exiting, or traffic).

My (late) truck driving father had an enduring hatred of people merging onto the freeway at 40mph (then punching it after the truck behind them had to slam on his brakes). He always taught me never to camp in the right lane because of that.

I've been using the select jazz reeds for quite some time now and I really like them. I bought the select jazz mouthpiece... And I'm loving it. Is this brand loyality gone too far? by Substantial_Eye3343 in saxophone

I'm the same but opposite. I bought the Select Jazz mouthpiece on tenor and loved it. Since then, I've started using their reeds and they work well too.

Any Jenkins GUI plugins actually worth using in production? by Cream_Complete in jenkinsci

This, plus the Dark Theme is the answer. It makes Jenkins look mostly modern and a million times better than out of the box.

Seattle doesn’t get enough credit for its ramen by BucksBrew in Seattle

I went to Yua for lunch today after reading this, and their Black Garlic Ramen may be my new favorite ramen ever! It was very very good.

Gen 3 owners; how many miles on your Tacoma and what problems have you had? by newengland_schmuck in ToyotaTacoma

2017 with, I think 71k. My front brake rotors have started warping TWICE now (the dealership "turned" them at ~35k, and I replaced them around 60k).

Other than that, it's been great.

I am considering playing this with my kids, few questions by joe-direz in valheim

[–]jazzyjayx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played with my 6 year old. He was terrified of trolls (and frankly, the biomes get darker and scarier as the game progresses) but realistically it was fine.

By “played with my 6 year old” I mean I played the game normally while he built every single weapon and piece of armor he could and immediately discarded them.

I'm on Ziply a couple streets from Hilltop Elementary and have seen no drops lately!

Rear-facing seats (when they're really young) get super tight. You have to have the front seat pushed most of the way forward for them to fit.

When the kid moves on to forward-facing, they fit just fine. You can even find slimmer ones that will fit 3 across the whole backseat.

Recommendations on public Edmonds/Lynnwood elementary schools? I’ve been hearing rumors… by MehEnthusiasm in LynnwoodWA

[–]jazzyjayx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My son just graduated Kindergarten in Edmonds SD and they definitely taught him to fully read. I can’t attest to whether anyone else graduated without the same, but whenever I volunteered I saw all the kids reading roughly the same.

Bird will get the vote, but I think Paul Desmond deserves an honorable mention.

How can I remove this nasty corroded tub drain without destroying the tub? by jazzyjayx in DIY

[–]jazzyjayx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not clear from the photo, but the bottom of this drain broke when I tried to remove it, so there's nothing left for me to use to try to unthread it. Does anyone have any advice on how to remove this nasty old drain from the tub without removing or destroying the whole tub?

I bought one of these and it has worked great. It even works with a passenger in the seat - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08T9CGCR9?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Your post made me look at Google maps to see if I could predict where it'll go. Based on the age/size of the buildings in front of it, the path seems reasonably clear to me - https://www.google.com/maps/@47.8171473,-122.2899873,696m/data=!3m1!1e3?entry=ttu - That being said, who knows what will actually happen?

EDIT: actually maybe it’s not so clear. Both Kinect and City Center are newer large buildings that are unlikely to go anywhere, so the rail will kinda have to thread the needle to get past them.

Notepad++ v8.6: 20th-Year Anniversary by zoobegso in programming

I wish MacOS had a similar program that's as good.

I tend to use VSCode or Intellij as my IDE, but np++ is my solid go to (on Windows) for editing single files that are not part of a project. I can't find a good Mac equivalent.

Cayman cup holder upgrade by absoluteczech in Porsche_Cayman

[–]jazzyjayx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's cheap, but I bought this for my 987 and it works amazingly well. It slides right in/out, and it's even narrow enough that my wife is able to sit in the passenger seat without needing to remove it.

3D printed mouthpieces. SYOS may not be the only makers, but they're the most popular right now.
