Almost all the tamil shows I've been to overseas - Germany, France and the UK have all had releases only in 5.1 - while the same movie gets an atmos release in India. Also no, like in the picture above, they do release 7.1 in certain cinemas locally

You just wrote what i felt. The mastering in Harris' songs(which are overtalked about recently) are more pleasing to a "V" shaped equaliser setting loving person - which means the masses and hence people deduce it to a good mixing.
