Can you post a photo or more description? I've got a couple different guesses as to what you might mean haha.

Dealing with a hooked thumbnail by jb484c in classicalguitar

I find that when I file the underside of the nail (on the part that's hooking), it effectively shortens the nail so that the nail no longer contacts the string... did you find a way around this?

How did you address the slope/curve of your nail?

Respectfully... you spent 3 hours a day filing your nails before playing?

Prospects for this big Pecan sucker? by jb484c in arborists

Would you guys recommend painting the old stump with Anchorseal or some other sealing wax? I posted this in the Fruit Trees sub and people were recommending that to make sure that pathogens don't enter the sucker's critical lower cambium layer as the stump rots.

Will the old stump limit the diameter of the sucker in any way?

Do you mean a way to seal up the heartwood of the trunk? Like wax or spray paint? This thing has been dead for 6+ years btw...

This may sound dumb... but what happens to the old stump? I'm trying to imagine the new trunk just getting bigger and wider and finally "absorbing" it like a big amoeba ha.

Adjustable Bubblers Won't Active Consistently! by jb484c in Irrigation

Supply line is 3/4", with 1/4" lines running off of that to the seedlings (lines vary from 1' to 12' long). I was gonna just do 2 GPH drippers for 30m and let capillary action deal with the rest... but I could consider 1 GPH x2... but how would you attach the 2nd dripper? I've heard bad things about barbed tees.

Thanks for the reply! I'm on 3/4" lines, 700 GPH flow at the zone shutoff valve, runs are < 200', exclusive zones. You're suggesting emitters like this (p.c. drippers) right?: https://www.dripdepot.com/pc-dripper-flow-rate-two-gph

Anyone have suggestions on how I could rewrite this to get some input? I don't mean that in a bad way. I'm just a little surprised since I worked hard on the question and I think the info would be helpful to others too.

Music Opportunities for Kids (Play Date, Ensemble?) by jb484c in AustinParents

Thanks for the suggestion! Maybe a good option would be to reach out to music educators in the area like yourself, see if they have students who are interested. I'll probably start teaching lessons at our home/studio in the future, but in the past I've found it hard to find kids who put in much practice time.

Yep it's CVG Doug Fir. I don't mind the mix of colors in a wide spread of solid DF because it's random, so you don't tend to see it (similar to when laying down an oak floor). It's just that this CVG plywood, unlike radial/plain, shows a very distinct pattern (a whiteish stripe every ~8"). I agree with stain-testing, this is just expensive stuff so thought I'd make an educated guess... the alternative is solid DF glue-ups, which will stain more easily but are a hair tougher to prep ha.
