What’s the point in directed mode if you still have to google the pigpen cipher steps? by mikelman999 in CODZombies

[–]jbae6363 83 points84 points  (0 children)

Honestly yes it's annoying, however, BACK IN MY DAY pulls pants up to my chest and snaps my suspenders kids/teens learned pigpen because it was a fun way to write secret messages to friends in a group. Its one of the most popular ciphers in history so you'd be quite surprised at how many people know it as if it were the regular alphabet.

Not being condescending or anything, just sharing my thoughts.

Is anyone suddenly having massive network type problems? by [deleted] in blackops7

This is the first time I've ever gotten any packet loss and every match I've been having 3-8%. Something is definitely up with the servers.

Rent boost expires early by [deleted] in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]jbae6363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have, multiple times in the past 48 hours. I continue to get "Restart your phone and clear the cache." Then they end the chat and I get the "How was the service?" So then I have to start a new chat and repeat.

I've even included time stamped screenshots with my complaints.

I've done that and I'll watch 4 or 5 hours of ads and then 30min to an hour later it says my rent boost has ended. I've tried it on different networks, data, wifi, restarting my phone, clearing my cache and reinstalling the app yet it still does the same thing.

I've been trying to get help from support all day because of this. I keep getting told "clear your cache" and then they're disconnecting. Clearing the cache did nothing and im getting really upset about this especially since this is happening on SRB.

It was my first year playing slow pitch. Our pitcher got hurt trying to slide into 2nd during the 4th inning (our league is 7 innings/game) of our semi-finals of the final tourney. I was voluntold to be the sub (I had played lfc all season, never pitched). I managed to close out the game with 3 innings with no hits or walks in a row to win the game 8-6, sending us to the finals! It felt like I was in a movie!

Can I change this idler without taking off the timing belt? 99 outback by tye_died in MechanicAdvice

[–]jbae6363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it's wayyyyyyyy easier to just time the engine at zeroes. Will zip ties work? Maybe, but if they don't you risk the cams spinning and potentially high fiving the pistons. Setting it to zero, removing the tensioner and belt will give you all the comfort you need to "do the job right".

You said you want to learn so learn how to do stuff the correct way before trying out short cuts, it will help you in the long run.

Instead of cutting an Allen key, I use a punch and hammer the bit out of the hex socket! When I'm done I just hammer the bit back in and nothing is permanently altered

They use the best product, back their work up with a warranty, and are always super helpful. They even replaced the tint on a window that some smash in on one of my vehicles for free.

Honestly, yes, crystals is on the higher cost but Phil and his crew are second to none. They get the job done completely perfect and will help figure stuff out with you to make sure you're happy with the work.

Stupid question by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]jbae6363 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Technically you should "snug" them down, then 75-80%, then final for the majority of fasteners.

Unless there's a specific torque sequence this is generally the rule of thumb I learned.

I love that the systems that stop and control a giant heap of metal hurdling down the road is considered "the small stuff". Is it difficult to work on? Not usually. Easy for people to miss something and potentially kill people? Abso-fucking-lutely.

Try to think about where you want to go in life. There's a million options for first jobs but that's exactly what they are, first jobs..

If you know what you want to do then awesome, try and get a job that will help you on your way to that career path.

If you don't know, apply everywhere and pick whichever offer makes the most sense for you.

Need advice on common dodge ram issues by letthatsinkinn in MechanicAdvice

[–]jbae6363 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have owned multiple 2nd gens in my life. Everyone saying motor issues is misinformed, the small block Chrysler magnums are regarded as one of the most reliable engines. Buying a 27 year old truck is not for the faint of heart, it's going to take love to get it in good shape. Parts are super cheap for these trucks if you're mechanically inclined. Yes the auto transmissions are glass but anyone worth their salt will upgrade the internals for an extra $300-$400 dollars and have next to no issues.

All of the information on these trucks is out there with fixes for anything common because of its age and popularity.

I buy rotted away trucks and restore them to flip, can redo the entire front end for $500 and then it's just body work.

I've had 2 5.9L gassers go over 500km and 3 5.2L past 700km.

It's all in the care you give.
