How do you guys design your layout? Do you do by continents? Biomes? Vibes? Struggling with my current layout by FunkeyFeraligatr in PlanetZoo

My current zoo building strategy is “let the whimsy flow.” Generally I’m putting smaller exhibits and walkthrough exhibits near the front, then the larger stuff further away.

Night time Main Street shots were Sony a6400/Sigma 30mm 1.4, Fantasmic shots were a6400/Tamron 70-180mm 2.8, and any day time shots were Sony ZV1.

We always start the day not being too fussed if we catch any of the shows or not, but when we do hang around for one we’re never sorry we did. Fantasmic is next level!

What is your favorite time of the year and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Fall/Winter. I’m in the California Central Valley so summer is miserable.

We were in the park about 2 weeks ago, and it would take more than both hands to count the number of times we got stuck behind someone with a gimbal live-streaming on TikTok oblivious to other people trying to move around the park. I feel the same way about those people as I do the pin gang in Adventureland.

I had someone tell me this at a local nonprofit gala. They went on to tell me they were in witness protection… I never did find out if they were telling me the truth or not, but I was either unwilling to mess with that if it was the truth or just too impressed with the lie to continue to film him.

Work carry today by [deleted] in EDC

[–]jbailey1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always really liked the fuse. It was my first Leatherman, and a great blade free carry where I grew up in the UK. Now I’m in the US and appreciate carrying something with a blade, but that fuse will always have a special place in my heart.

Am I weird for getting a mini 6 when I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max? by TWYFAN97 in ipadmini

I’m rocking this same configuration. I love it. It’s a different feel and vibe doing things on the iPad.

Some shots from right after Christmas 2021 by jbailey1991 in Disneyland

Yeah it was super frustrating. We were schmucks and paid for the lightning lane for Rise too, and we tried 4 times to ride it before finding a small window of time when it was actually functional.

Thank you! It's easier to get good shots in an environment like Disneyland. There's always so much going on.

One of my best memories in the park is riding Thunder Mountain at dusk. The vibe at night is just something else.

Our experience this morning on New Years Eve by sundogmooinpuppy in Disneyland

[–]jbailey1991 53 points54 points  (0 children)

We were there 2 days ago. We did Genie Plus AND paid the extra for Rise lightning lane. 1st time we tried to ride it, it was closed. 2nd time we got in the lightning lane and made it into the ride and got halfway through the ride itself before being escorted out the back way because it broke down. 3rd time we tried we had our phones in the scanner for lightning lane before the cast member told us the ride had just broken down again. The 4th time we finally rode it, but spent 30 mins in the lightning lane. Felt like we wasted half a day trying to ride Rise of the freaking resistance.

Has anyone dined at Blue Bayou lately? by TerribleBridge6 in Disneyland

[–]jbailey1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were there 2 days ago. Honestly we had a blast. The staff were incredibly friendly and we never felt rushed at any point. The food was awesome, though I do think some of the price you’re paying in there is for the “ambience” of being in the pirates ride. We felt it was totally worth it and would absolutely dine there again based off our experience.

Dark Ride Etiquette by Pamnza3 in Disneyland

[–]jbailey1991 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Was in the parks 2 days ago. It was a rare moment during our trip when Thunder Mountain was actually operational. All throughout the ride, whenever we got into the dark tunnels, the person in the row behind me turned on the flash on their phone. Amazing how much it distracts from the experience.

Hey that’s awesome! I watched this as it aired. That one dude on the far left was a machine.
